Positive Comments: The chorus melodically is a great answer to the question and problems the first stanzas ask. In other words, the tune expresses the words. The rich, weary vocals work very well. This is Tracy Chapman with grit. The unexpected twist at the end makes the song unique and sets it apart. I look at things from a songwriting point of view, and this is a very well written song it could be done in several different styles: pop, country, heavy metal. It could be a demo, a studio production, be one voice and guitar, or it could have complex instrumentation. The song stands on its own merits. Now that’s something! Studio work is impeccable.
