Song: The Day That They Came
Reviewer: Simon Niclas Hahn
Positive Comments: The song creates a very nice melancholic mood. I like the way the E-Piano harmoinizes with the vocals. The vocals also are sung very well. The song would fit perfectly into a movie, but it also would work well as a single pop song. I could also imagine it as a part of a bigger work such as a musical, or something like that.
Constructive Comments: I don’t really get the sense of the lyrics. Is it a Anti-war song, or something else? That needn’t be a weak point, it often makes a song special and deep, when the listener has to interpret the lyrics or when the song makes curious about the story behind it. In 2:18 in the lyrics is written “Mama tells me things will be fine, oh mama,”, but it is sung: “MY Mama tells me…”. It reminds me of popular pop songs, but that gives a song market potential.
