Positive Comments: I am impressed with the novelty of this song. The guitar (particularly at the beginning) seemed to put a pop/contempory tone to the jazz. The rhythm of the guitar carried that throughout the song. The topic of the song is catchy. It matches the mood of the instrument. The tone and quality of the voice is very strong. It fits with the genre and the other instruments.

Constructive Comments: The guitar is great, but much stronger than the bass and the drums were a bit low for my taste. Note, that is my taste. I melody of the vocal line seemed to be a bit unpredictable at time. That’s more accepted in jazz, but refining some of the rhythm of the words would help make it more pleasing to listeners. I would love to hear this again with a little faster tempo perhaps 4-6 BPM. While I realize that the mood is greatly affected by the tempo, it seemed the singer was working to slow herself to the music. Just a thought there.I believe this would work well with film/TV in drama scenes that would match the topic of the song.

Positive Comments: This is more of a rock/pop song from what I can tell.

Constructive Comments: Suggestions–1. I would revisit the vocal melody. It seems a little mundane. 2. The mix is slightly harsh around 2.5 to 5 K. Maybe notch the frequencies a little there. 3. Reclassify it as pop or rock.

Constructive Comments: Without a vocal melody, this seems to feel like something’s missing.

Positive Comments: Nice up-beat Christmas song. Instruments were excellent and the vocal definitely fit the song well.

Constructive Comments: Nothing negative to say, but this song is in the WRONG SPOT in my opinion. It needs to be in Unique Holiday or Blues or Unique Comedy or somewhere other than “Rock – General” so you’ll get the right ears on it!

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: When this first started, I heard a ton of potential. Great opening riff and I sat back and was ready for action!

Constructive Comments: For me, the rhythm chords and progression outshone the lead guitar which was too hot in the mix. Sadly there was almost no low-end. A power anthem needs bass to match the drums in volume and intensity.

Positive Comments: Some of the doubled guitars were nice and the chord progression was OK.

Constructive Comments: Sadly, I already know who I’m listening to because it’s completely out-of-tempo with drums and I’ve been down this road before. The guitarist lost his place at the 2:24 mark and it’s just an obvious home recording of an idea.

Positive Comments: The sound on the acoustic guitar is very nice. The backing instruments are well-balanced and it’s always nice to hear a natural drum sound instead of a beat-box.

Constructive Comments: Could not remotely get past the vocal being out-of-pitch almost the entire song. I’d strongly urge using something like Pro Tools if you’re recording at home, and use pitch correction to bring things into focus. Also lyrically, this sounds really old, sorry.
