Positive Comments: Syncopated percussion leads into the surprise: a bright, steady take on the Merle Travis classic Sixteen Tons. Sung with a jazzy warmth – and, rather unusually, by a woman, it works well. An original, worthwhile version that deserves some airplay.

Constructive Comments: Well separated across the channels. Expressive, accurately pitched vocal. Good, discreet backing. Occasionally a bit too much reverb on the voice for my tastes – but that’s just my tastes. The only jarring moment: the join at 01:56. All in all, a good choice, warmly performed and well recorded. Good luck with it.
