Song: HOW DID YOU KNOW?
Reviewer: Randall Mark
Positive Comments: Nice easy, flowing live song. The lyrics work very well to add to the romance in the song. I like the guitar chords and progressions. The singing and performances are well done and add to the light, cheerful mood of the piece. Great idea for a title, which then opens up the lyrics to go in lots of directions, asking the question “how did you know” and then expanding on the different little things, that works well!
Constructive Comments: I marked down for arrangement and instrumentation because I was a bit dissapointrf in those. I did not care for the constant drum and click drum and click throughout the song Although it gave it a nice rhythm and kept the the beat nicely of the song I think it was at the expense of taking away the organic Ness that the song could’ve used more of. It made it sound to synthetic and I think the song would’ve been more powerful if I could’ve heard the guitar chords cleanly it made it sound to synthetic and I think the song would’ve been more powerful if I could’ve heard the guitar chords cleanly. That is just my preference or my idea for what it is worth I also don’t care for the harmonica sound used. And in the middle of the song there was the introduction of a very strange low pitched baasy sound that I dint know what was. I like the idea of adding different instruments to the verses so they don’t sound repetitious but that particular instrument was odd. Overall very nice song!!
