Song: My Merry Rocketship

Positive Comments: Not your everyday jazz tune. Contemporary composition and interesting lyrics.

Constructive Comments: Though this is probably not something that will make radio play I did find it interesting with some obviously good musicians. Having read the lyrics I might have preferred a more straight ahead approach with a simpler melody but this works as a more contemporary almost avant- garde piece. A studio recording might bring out a better balance…..

Positive Comments: Nice recording, strong vocals/harmonies, well balanced with vocals out front.

Constructive Comments: Vocals sounded a little too bright, maybe just an E.Q. thing but maybe bring in a little more mids to upper lows to smooth them out a bit. I like the vocalist’s voice and her pitch was fine. You might add a bridge just to change things up a little to give the listener a break from the rest of the song. All in all a good tune.

Positive Comments: Lovely semi-Jazz feel to this song, almost Steely Dan in ambience. I love those jazz chords. Great to hear an electic piano on the song, that gets me every time. The vocal is tremendous, and the sax is beautiful. All round great instrumentation. Those musicians are top notch. Please tell them that! Strong chorus. Very well recorded with good sound quality.

Constructive Comments: This is a beautiful piece of work, of which you should be very proud. I’m going to add it to my playlist as soon as I’ve sent this review. Just one thought, I like the extended chorus but I’m not sure whether these long outros are current today. Overall though close to perfection. Better than the anything I hear on radio these days.

Positive Comments: Love the intro, which is really dreamy. There’s a great swagger to the song. Lovely acoustic guitar and keyboard I like the slightly impromptu feel of the song as exemplified by the drums. Nice change for the ‘Train on the Track’ chorus. The whole song has a hypnotic quality.

Constructive Comments: Being picky, I’d increase the level of the vocal a tad. This might sound odd, but I could imagine Led Zeppelin doing a version of this song in their heyday.

Positive Comments: I think the lyrics are very strong. I really like the melody. Great vocal performance and use of backing vocals. Lovely chord changes at 1.04 and 1.06 etc., indeed the way the lyrics meld with the chord changes is superb. The vibe of the song reminds me of The Eagles.

Constructive Comments: My only comment is that you could have mixed up the instrumentation a bit by subtracting and adding instruments as the verses and choruses progress just to give of light and shade and add dynamism. Overall though a lovely song.

Positive Comments: This is actually like the top 1 or 2 songs out if all I have head on broadjam. I loved it! The song reached me emotionally and made me feel things. I loved the strumming and the vocals, they were both flowing and blended so nicely, just sounded very pleasing to the ear. I also particularly liked the pauses in the music with the singing continued And then the music picked up again. Also I liked the introduction of just front types of instruments throughout the different verses that kept the song even more interesting than repeating the same instruments throughout. I also loved the parts in the middle where the singing reached a higher pitch. Also I liked the very ending which was a pretty strum of s chord. This is an awesome song in many ways I have to say

Constructive Comments: I could not think of anything else needed which is further testament that it’s a great song!
