Positive Comments: It was really a great piece. I think it just seemed to be lacking some fire. The arrangement was great and the recording was nice. I tend not to listen to anything this soft. I prefer more edgy jazz and jazz fusion. Nothing really stands out a lot. Its almost easy listening to a degree. A better vocalist to take that to the next level is what you need. Someone that can be a little more acrobatic.

Constructive Comments: I already gave all the suggestions in the first part of the critique. Maybe in addition to a more fervent vocal, you could go with a lead instrument or two to take it up a notch. Nothing wrong with the way this was recorded though if that’s what you want. I am just telling you what I would want to hear. Good job.

Positive Comments: It is an upbeat and catchy song. The melody and guitar parts are good and can see myself humming it after hearing the song. I can hear this song in the background of a movie or tv show during an upbeat moment, such as when the villain is caught or when an issue is resolved. The vocals with the drums and no other instruments at the end is nice as well.

Constructive Comments: It is a good song but needs something to make it more catchy during the chorus such as additional backing vocals. It starts out really good, but would consider changing out the “snap snap snap”, and “shrink wrap this”, and removing the electronic drum tracks. There also could be more bass in the mix. I would probably shorten the guitar solo since not sure if it is adding anything.

Positive Comments: The guitar riff is interesting, and creates an upbeat and positive mood. I like how the guitar riff changes and evolves throughout the song. I can imagine hearing this in the background in a movie or TV show where there an issue is being resolved or a person has an ephinany. This could also be used in a podcast.

Constructive Comments: The drum tracks are too busy – instead you could make it more of a simple beat, and then in certain areas of the song, add more fills or more creative patterns. The use of the echo or chorus does not feel right where it is used. I cannot hear the bass line, and there could be use of an interesting bass line in this song.

Positive Comments: I like the mood it creates – I can imagine hearing this in a movie or TV show, especially in a scene that has some drama, or that has a pivotal moment where someone stands up for themselves. I like the guitar riff, it is catchy. I also like the addition of the keyboard parts when they show up. I like how the vocals are doubled up. The drums are done well.

Constructive Comments: I would like to hear the bass more, it does not come through. Actually there is an opportunity for a funky bass part that can make this song even better. Other than that, I don’t have any other constructive comments – the song stands on its own. I would market it towards opportunities that are more somber, like a drama, or even an NPR podcast.

Positive Comments: Voice is good. Instrumentation is good. The melody is good. It has a sincerity that comes through as truth. This song belongs in a film or accompanying a visual production of some kind.

Constructive Comments: The song is much, much stronger after the first 6 lines. After the first time the singer says “please let me know…,” the song song goes from mediocre to very good.

Positive Comments: There is an instrument that starts at 0:37, it sounds like only a few notes, but, its beautiful. those few notes pulled me in… Ok, so, this track is gorgeous. are those vocals at 1:43? I found it striking. this is a wonderful song, its very inspiring and i can see this placed in action films… or just listen in the car, its great for long distance driving…

Constructive Comments: i love music that inspires me and makes me want to be productive. this song does that. its perfect.

Constructive Comments: I would definitely categorize this one to Unique. There’s a lot going on in this track as well as being a little off track. I would definitely go back and work on this a little more.

Constructive Comments: I thought the intro with the voicemail messages was rather long. They say the first 30-45 seconds of a song will decide whether or not they’re interested in hearing. This intro was over a minute long. I’d shorten it down to 2 instead of three. Just a thought. Other than that it was a great song.

Constructive Comments: In my opinion only, I think at the very beginning it could have been a smoother transition to the beat or maybe played that beginning piece just a tad bit longer then transition. That’s just my opinion. I really like it though! Great job!
