Song: WOULDN’T LIFE BE EASY?

Positive Comments: I like the utilization of the acoustic guitar within in mix. It sits very nicely. The piano part matches well with the acoustic guitar and does not distract. “We turn our thoughts to what’s at hand and wallow in the rain” is an interesting lyrical figure. The song’s instrumental layering develops nicely throughout.

Constructive Comments: My comments are of a technical nature and are in no way meant to be negative. The vocal quality reminds me a bit of Tom Petty. I think that the song tempo could be increased slightly. That’s slightly and not a great deal. The moody vibe of the composition can easily move the listener to despair. The song also ends very abruptly and could have benefited from a long fade-out.

Positive Comments: This is a nice recording. The song writing is very minimalist with the lyrical content delivering the message in an tight effective way. “Reason to walk out the door” is the key lyric. The use of the piano and organ tones are effective within the song construct. The funk bass guitar line supports the drum groove.

Constructive Comments: My only suggestions are of a technical nature and are in no way a distraction to the artist. Some of the pitch correction on the vocal track is readily transparent (not auto-tune – pitch correction). I would love to hear some additional space with the music, i.e., use of another instrument such as an electric guitar. All-in-all, a great track.
