Positive Comments: I like the originality of the guitar harmony. It is a rather strange, but that is not a direct criticism. The layered guitars are effective, again, if not a bit strange. Again, this is not something you hear on a regular basis. In many aspects this could be part of a larger arrangement in the future, but the guitar figures sit nicely on their own.

Constructive Comments: Here are some constructive comments. These comments fit into the technical category. First off, the noise at the beginning of the recording is a distraction and should be edited out. This is easily accomplished using a free sound editor such as Audacity. The two guitars sound slightly out of tune in relation to one another. I could be mis-interpreting the player’s intention, but the slight off-pitch is a distraction. Lastly, utilizing the stereo image of left and right will open up the mix.

Positive Comments: Good vocal, sometimes he sounded a little like George Strait. Nice work! Melody is catchy and parts were played well.

Constructive Comments: I felt the recording sounded a little too retro. A bit too much reverb on the snare and cymbals for today’s radio. But, the instruments were clearly defined. Keep at it!

Positive Comments: I like the general rhythm electric guitar sound. Very big/very smooth. There is a cool musical figure contained within the verse. This helps differentiate the song from other compositions created in this vein. This piece reminds me of Kiss in some ways perhaps April Wine. I would like to hear more from this artist in the future.

Constructive Comments: The lead vocal is often difficult to hear within the mix. It would help to boost the mid range frequencies of the lead vocal as the electric guitars are masking the verse lyric content. Another trick might be to reduce the rhythm guitar levels in the mix or reduce the bass frequencies on the guitar about 16 db at 210 hz. This is only a suggestion from an old radio guy, but these tricks often work to clean up a mix. The heavy roto-vibe effect on the lead guitar distracts rather than enhances to my ear. That’s just my opinion and not a negative in any way. Keep producing.

Positive Comments: This is an interesting composition. It most definitely crosses genres. While it has highly distorted guitars, it could easily find air-play on a country music station as an up-tempo submission. The guitar work is outstanding. I especially like the rhythm guitar tone – very nice. The lead guitar is well executed.

Constructive Comments: The song is nicely produced. The recording sounds properly mastered along with excellent stereo placement of the instruments. My only suggestions are thus: the lyric content/theme has been used multiple times in many songs the lead vocal is rather “up-front”. A word change or two in the verse might help the lyrics sound more original. A tiny bass frequency reduction in the lead vocal might make it sit better in the mix. All-in-all, great work and enjoyable listen.
