Positive Comments: mmmm, tough one for me, I like your song and I think there’s a lot of potential here, you have a good voice

Constructive Comments: But if I’m going to be honest, rating be damned, I have to say there are some issues here. The drum beat needs some work, its ok to start with but needs to come into a full back beat eventually. and despite the quality of vocals the chorus vocals need work, you hold that pitch and note the whole time, theres no release, you should let your voice travel back down the scale at the end of the phrase. I don’t want to get to critical here, its a good song and you have some talent for singing, but it just needs a little more work and thought.

Positive Comments: Hey great song, love the traveling man theme, and the story mode. Love your voice type for the song, only have a few issues

Constructive Comments: 1. main issue, that high hat! damn, its loud and really interfering with my ability to hear the vocals. bring the vocals up in the mix a little. and it sounds like the timing on some of the playing is a little loose at times it could be a little tighter. and lastly, You need a little more excitement and enthusiasm in your voice, it starts out good and sounds like your bored about half way through.

Positive Comments: well sounds like you’ve got lots of potential, good chops, raw talent

Constructive Comments: But the playing is a little static, and the recording quality is not quite up to speed. So if your going to do solo guitar instrumentals like this, people really don’t want a lot of reverb and delay, you need to be naked and raw so they can hear you , unless its a big delay trope style. But blues isn’t that style. and it sounds like you’re playing to a click track, if there are no other instruments than why? let the tempo ebb and flow and the intensity of your playing rise and fall, thats called dynamics, you need dynamics. and slow down just a bit, just a touch so you can groove it better. and get some mastering software so you can bring your recording volume and quality up to speed. but, you can play so keep it up…….

Positive Comments: great voice, good song, love the bass line

Constructive Comments: I think the chorus could be a little stronger somehow, maybe syncopate the words a little different or double up your voice to a bigger sound, something to make it stand out a little from the rest of the vocals . the only other thing that I could think of was the guitar tone, its a little digital for me, but I’m a purist guitar player so maybe it won’t bother others. great work.

Constructive Comments: If I could change on thing in the mix, I would bring the lead vocal out just a hair more. Overall I like the song.

Constructive Comments: If I were mixing this piece, I would bring the drums out a bit more. So the kick and snare can really be heard. Brighter snare with a good pop. Kick a little more defined to compliment the bass. Good Song!!

Constructive Comments: If I were mixing this song, my first task would be to bring the drums further out in the mix. I would also allow multiple takes with different lead vocals just to hear different variations. Good Song!

Song: We Can Be Lovers Again (Duet) -Julia Schmidt & Bob Bentley

Positive Comments: Female vocals in this piece are outstanding. The chord structure is solid in this piece that gives it a nice traditional feel. The song as a whole takes me back to that classic 80’s country ballads even earlier.

Constructive Comments: If I had some suggestions, To bring out the Male vocal up in the mix. The piano do some light fills during the 2nd verse. The brushes are a great touch. Maybe bring that out stronger in the mix during the chorus. Great tune!
