Positive Comments: Assuming the quality and feel was to feel like playing a record, that’s actually pretty cool. A background pad suited for that in a very rustic country setting.

Constructive Comments: If if that old record sound is what you were shooting for, I don’t know if I would keep it consistent through the whole song. Maybe beginning and ending perhaps? Just to clean up some of the clipping in the song to give it more clarity.

Positive Comments: The vocal is insanely good! Melody lyrics flow together. Instrumentation gives a great feel and compliments the vocals well. Some of the timbre and vibrato in the vocal really sounds like Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town. Example “Better Man” Looking forward to hearing more from this artist.

Constructive Comments: My ear wants to take the vs from the 6m to 5. Instead of holding the 6m at the end of each phrase. Give the guitars a little more modern brighter tone. Bring the drums out in the mix in the chorus more. Great piece with a lot of potential.

Positive Comments: Super powerful song, well crafted and arranged. instrumentation blends seamlessly with the vocal track. Gave me a Metallica vibe without the raspy vocals.

Constructive Comments: Only one suggestion is add a backing vocal with harmonies in the chorus to thicken it up and give it a bit more sectional contrast.other than that, excellent craftsmanship!

Positive Comments: I really like the double time 4/4 to the 3/4 hook. Brilliant!!Lyrics tell a story but retains the hook for turn around. Instrumentally the over all blue-grass feel gives the song the right background for the melody and lyrics. There is a band in Nashville called the Eskimo Brothers. Was kind of reminded of them when listening to this.

Constructive Comments: If I were mixing the song, I would have dried up the reverb a bit to bring the whole vocal out more. On the hook of 3 quarter time, add a 3rd part harmony. During the versus, I would arrange the instrumentation to be more laid back or muted strums but retain the groove. Overall nice piece!

Positive Comments: Favorite instrument in this piece is the vocal. The rasp makes that song. Sounds like Joe Cocker or similar to him. I really like the overall feel of the folk/blues style. The chromatic 3 to the 1 is a nice touch. Overall this has a nice folk sound with a touch of swampy blues.

Constructive Comments: Suggestions – The whole ensemble do that chromatic drop from 3 to 1 instead of just the steel. Would sound more organized. Vocally if possible a little more voice to balance the rasp. At about 40 and 1:16 seconds there’s a guitar lead fill note that I would change. May have been intentional. Music is open for interpretation without borders.

Positive Comments: Love the acoustic vibe on this song. Great blues tune with a traditional country feel. Acoustic guitars are panned perfectly where I can hear each part. End of chorus is a real good catchy hook. If I could pick one artist that I could say it sounds like would be Dwight Yoakam. I can hear his voice actually singing this.

Constructive Comments: This is a simple song. If it were to be recorded with a full ensemble, I could hear the drums lead in after the verse taking the song into an elevated drive through the chorus and rest of the song. Drives that bluesy beat with the music retaining it’s traditional feel.

Positive Comments: Love that traditional feel. Sounds like most traditional country songs from that era 80’s 90’s. Alan Jackson, George Strait. The fiddle makes the song by its tasty fills. “Good good golly gosh darn” is enough of a catchy lyric that will stick in my head all day.

Constructive Comments: If I had anything constructive to say, Rhythm Guitar – Maybe more staccato muted strum feel through the versus.Drums drive more through the instrumental, stronger snare hit and into last chorus. The hook for me on lyrics Good Golly Gosh Darn, 3 part harmonies to really emphasize the turn around. Overall good piece.

Positive Comments: I let this play a while because I was enjoying it so much. Moody, kind of brooding.

Constructive Comments: I wonder if an additional mix done ultra slow would be good for horror films? I don’t mean instead of, I mean in addition to. Your current tempo would be great for the new Twilight Zone.
