Reviewer: Trinity

Positive Comments: Love the sound of the instrumentation, and how it works with the vocals, I love the string sound in the background. Great lyrics, will definitely like to listen to more from this artist. This song has a great commercial sound, and I think would fit well in a soundtrack for a film or TV series.

Constructive Comments: I think the arrangement and the recording sounds great, not overcrowded or empty, but extremely well balanced. There is a great tone in the vocal delivery, I wouldn’t want to say anything to change the song. It is great the way it is.

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Nice background R & B track with a jazzy feel. Reminds me of something someone would play in a restaurant as people are eating dinner to provide a nice ambiance to the room and mood. Easygoing and fun to listen to. Nice job on the instrumentation and choices of samples.

Constructive Comments: The changeup in the beginning seemed rather choppy and incongruent to me. That seemed to disappear/be solved as the track progressed. I don’t write instrumental music, so take what I am saying with a grain of salt…I’m not an expert in the genre at all. This track could be shortened. There’s a lot of repetition. Ending is abrupt. Work on the ending.

Positive Comments: Even though I am not familiar with this genre, I was impressed by this track. The vocal is passionately sung. The performer seems to have her own voice, not trying to sound like someone else. “We should let the fire through.” Great lyric. “Everything leads me to you” another great one. Very cool “drip droppy” intro. I like the instrumentation. Pretty clever effects on the vocal. They enhance, and don’t detract from the production. Creative, original lyrics and storytelling. I didn’t hear anything trite in this song. Nice job!

Constructive Comments: Publish the lyrics on this song on your BJ site. I wish you the best in your career. I think the ending deserves a bit more treatment…why not make it as cool as the intro? Ending is rather abrupt.

Positive Comments: Here’s a rock song about the skeletons the writer has in his closet that haunt him. The lyrics are spare and simple, communicating a message of despair. The vocalist does a good job of expressing the hopelessness. Favorite lyric “while my blood runs cold.” Some really nice guitar work in there, a combination of crazy-mad electric to peaceful/pretty acoustic. I actually liked the gentle acoustic part better than the raging part, though both are well-played. This is an interesting song.

Constructive Comments: I’ll be real honest with you. I listened through the first time without looking at the lyrics. I kept asking myself, what is he singing about? I kept hearing Scaling Tents. I’m scratching my head and asking myself what in the world? Then I looked at the lyrics and saw skeletons and got what you were singing about. The word skeleton has the accent on the FIRST syllable. The way you are singing it, it seems to me you are putting the accent on the second syllable. That’s why it threw me off. You’re making it a long E instead of a “schwa” which is probably what you will find in the dictionary for the pronunciation of the word skeleton.
