Positive Comments: Here’s a song about a memorable night train ride, taking the singer back home to his love. The poetry and alliteration in this song are stellar. I especially admire the use of alliteration (slipping swirling steel). That’s some great lyric writing!

Constructive Comments: Match up the harmony/doubled vocals better. Shorten the song. The genre is folk/rural, but it sounded more folk/general to me. It’s too modern/electronic sounding (in my opinion) for folk/rural.Just my opinion: A train song ought to sound “train-y”. The only glimpse I caught of Trainy-ness was your night train harmony at one point in the song. I’m sure you already put a lot of time into this track and probably wouldn’t change it at this point. But if you did, I’d get some guitar or harmonica in there to give it a more folksy-trainy vibe. My guess is Chet Nichols. Am I right? Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: This love song has a honky-tonk Cajun feel that makes it fun to listen to. My favorite rhymes: fair/millionaire, mine/wine. The piano and concertina made me smile. The vocalist has a very singular, unique sound. Percussion is really nice in this song.

Constructive Comments: Clean up the ending. Shorten the instrumental sections. Sometimes it sounds like “noodling” with the concertina. Make it a little more deliberate with some memorable licks.

Positive Comments: Here’s an unsettling, angry-sounding angst-rock song that is brutally honest and hard-hitting. “Just like lightning, we are striking” great lyric. “We will break you.” Rather scary…is this “gang-rock?” The guitar licks are totally amazing – real wow stuff here. This rock band really has their act together!

Constructive Comments: This is a review by a 65 year old lady, so please understand, I’m out of my genre here. Whenever anyone is searching for truth, I just have to tell them: been there done that. I found truth and meaning for life in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I was where you are at age 18. But I didn’t want to break anyone. Who are you saying “We will break you” to? Just curious.

Positive Comments: Here’s a sweet Christian love song…great for a groom to sing to his bride on their wedding day. Sweetness and honesty permeate this track. It made me smile and wish there were more songs (and guys) like this in the world. The lovely harmonies and background vocals add to the charm. The chorus is memorable and singable. I really like the message this song communicates: that God in the center of a relationship is the best marriage ever. Vocals are crystal clear. Bravo!

Constructive Comments: As much as I like this song, here are some critical points. Don’t take it too hard! The musical intro is kind of weak and cheesy sounding…it says “home recording – synth – drum loop” and begs for better treatment. If you ever decide to take this song to the next level, hire a great producer. Even though I love the chorus, I think it needs some improvement. “You are so precious to me.” Great line. “You are so wonderful, you see.” That’s the line I think needs changing. I think it would even sound better if you sang “wonderful to me”. “You see” just seems like “something that rhymed” but lacks authenticity. Would you really say to your fiance/wife, “You are wonderful, you see?” Ah, nope. Keep the good stuff coming. I would definitely love to hear more of your work! Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: Here’s a fun instrumental track with a lot of freshness from the intro all the way through. I’m hearing a memorable hook, fun sounds, a cool vibe and some amusing space-shipp-y sounds scattered throughout. Track has a nice build, professional mix and production. Dance-able. I am sure this could have commercial success. I was thinking it would make nice hold music.

Constructive Comments: I’m outside my genre here, so I can’t help you much. I can say that I am impressed you did a great job…keep the good stuff coming.
