Positive Comments: I appreciate what you were trying to accomplish here, and agree that the original thought had potential. I thought all the instruments went well together and complimented each other.

Constructive Comments: I don’t have a problem with a 4 and a half minute instrumental, but I do have a problem with a 15 second melody that is just repeated for 4 and half minutes like this song. That is extremely self indulgent and disrespectful towards your audience, not to mention extremely lazy.Hated your choice of ending, I can not for the life of me understand the musical purpose of 30 seconds of barely audible sounds at the end of this recording.

Positive Comments: I’ll give you credit, you took enough lyrics for a 45 second song and managed to stretch them to 3 minutes.

Constructive Comments: The beat was very basic, had the feel of a preprogrammed beat you would get with a synthesizer instead of something unique. Was very reminiscent of “safety dance”. I know this is just a fun song and not meant for big deep meanings or anything, but you have to put more effort into your lyrics here. Was just way to repetitive. I think by the 1 minute mark there were no more new lyrics and that is just not enough to make an impact.

Positive Comments: This song had good energy to it and a fun vibe, the kind of song that would make people want to get up and dance.

Constructive Comments: Two big issues here. You dramatically overuse the word Bobby. The lyrics were so much better when you weren’t using Bobby every single line. Especially given that the refrain is “Bobby why’d you do it?” the overuse cheapens the refrain. I would say you have to get rid of about half the bobby’s to make this a better song. I am sure you can identify places where the word is not really necessary.Second one is that I notice that sometimes you are putting more force into your vocals then other times, which is fine. But its affecting your mix. By your volume and intensity going up and down it makes it very difficult for whoever is producing the mix to put the vocals in proper balance with the music because what would be balanced is constantly changing. There are a lot of times when you are darn close to peaking vocally if not outright peaking. Normally its the percussion section that causes peaking problems not vocals. You clearly have sung this song more then a few times and sing it the same way. when singing live peaking is less of an issue, but in a recording setting I suggest when you know you are getting to parts of the song where you are going to give it a little more. Make sure you lean away from the mic a little, that way it will be easier to create a balanced mix. You will still get the effect of the more force, without throwing the balance off and/or causing peaking problems.

Positive Comments: I like how the song progressed through the piece, and liked the judicious use of the pedals instead of just standing on them throughout the whole song. Also liked the dramatic pauses at the end, was a good way to wrap up the feeling of the song without overusing the effect.

Constructive Comments: while the recording of the song was solid, I wonder if some after effects in the mixing might help bolster the sound and provide the piano a greater punch.
