Positive Comments: This was a very fun song, and it would have gotten better overall ratings if the mix was better.
Constructive Comments: The irony is that you say during the song “don’t need no post-production” when actually that is what this song is desperately lacking. There is no balance between the instruments and vocals. The levels are all over the place and nothing has been subtley panned to help differentiate the sounds. Everything is just washing together. While I liked the vocals, a tweak here and there with an EQ would have made them pop and carry more punch. The background vocals which were perfectly used were so low in the mix and lacking in any production help to make them stand out they are almost totally lost. The only thing you did from a song construction standpoint that I did not like was you overused the gimmicks. The “ows” and the talking to the band. Don’t let them become a crutch, and when you use them you have to use them very judiciously otherwise it just gives a listener the feeling that you ran out of lyrics to your song. You did a pretty good job editting the song itself as you made it, but you need to put that kind of thought and effort into the mix as well. If this song only had half of the recording flaws it has (all of which are pretty easy to address) I would have added it to one of my playlists, and it would have gotten at least a 4 if not a 5 for overall rating. By not putting in the time and effort in post-production you really robbed this song of a lot of life and energy which is a shame and quite ironic considering the lyric choice you made about “post-production”.
