Song: When Love Prevails (Lambert/Tucker)

Reviewer: Bob Stump

Positive Comments: nice message, positive , good instrumentation . Overall feel fits the lyrics .The vocals tell the story nicely .

Constructive Comments: Thoughts: It takes more than a minute to get to the first chorus. Verses and chorus are similar musically . Maybe it could build more as the song moves along. I hope this helps . Good luck and write on!

Positive Comments: I like the instrumentation and the old timey folk bluegrass feel , very well played , nice harmony too.Sounds natural , Carter fFamily ish. Starting with the chorus is nice sometimes. And you told the story in less than 3 minutes.

Constructive Comments: So- I get the long period of missing someone. Not sure on the story of an Irish woman in another life ? , then a black mystery woman. I know that she lured your lover away but i’m wondering why Seven Years is so important. maybe “If it had,nt been for that red haired harlet from Dublin and her mysterious black magic ways i wouldn’t be standing here seven years later on the edge of this bridge ready to fly away”. Anyway -I hope this was helpful-Write on !

Positive Comments: I like the setting , old phone and piano, the old house etc

Constructive Comments: there are a lot of dead grandmother songs out there and it’s hard to be unique. maybe the story could have been taken further.”the piano still sitting there with her old shawl across the bench I could still hear those old songs as if she were in the room today” .It was through a childs’ eyes and fond memories that inspired this . I get that u miss them .I was hoping for more story and life ,rather than passing and sorrow. Intro too long , chorus and hooks are hard to hang your hat on. Is it this old phone or is it takes me back etc I don’t know , I hope this is helpful- and remember it is only one critique – good luck and write on!

Positive Comments: Simple, straightforward, beautiful, alluring…The richness of the chords that follow the initial melodic offering is transformative. The rhythm finds its way into the psyche…This is a song that I would enjoy playing, adding my heart and touch to. This is a special piece of music. It feels improvised after the middle. It’s fun to follow the melody as it rolls along.Yeah! The half-way point yields some other wonderful harmonic surprises. I like that!

Constructive Comments: I enjoyed this journey immensely. This really is a piece that I would take and arrange and play. There are two thoughts here: it is an improvised piece, and yet it has a structure that reaches out. I like both.I would frame everything with that structure. I really enjoy this piece.

Positive Comments: Potential – probably placement in film or advertisement. The whole track sounded like one big hook. Really well played/mixed. Would I listen to it again – Absolutely. A pleasure listening to it, loved the drive and upbeat feel.

Constructive Comments: Liked the sea/water sounds but didn’t feel the tune gave me a feel of the sea which only really came into it at the end. Excellent mix with perfect instrument levels to compliment each other.
