Positive Comments: Instrumentation was great. The guitar tone great also. The hook is a bit wordy. It sounds like the vocalist didn’t “get into” the song until about halfway through the first verse. Whatever feeling you’re trying to convey, sell it from the start, grab the listener and take them on the journey with you especially on a personal song like this.

Constructive Comments: The music doesn’t fit the subject, it the music) seems a little too perky. It took me a minute to understand the message and subject, I had to read the lyrics a couple of times. The hook and the verses don’t seem to match. You don’t want to have to explain the meaning of the song to the listener.

Positive Comments: Great song, great message. Great vocal performance, remember. when you’re performing even on a recording, your audience can “see” your face when you’re singing. It’s critical to convey what you’re singing. The vocals sound a little “businesslike” the song is about encouragement. That’s a small thing. I like this song!

Constructive Comments: The music seems a bit too happy for the subject. No hit hat, the acoustic guitar seems to take that spot. Is it there lost in the mix? The tam is a little to prominent it could use just a little swing to keep it from feeling to mechanical like you did on the acoustic guitar part near the end. Love the texture the acoustic guitar adds.

Positive Comments: This is a fun song and the performance reflects that. Great pitch and tone. I always get told by the engineer and producer to “smile on this part” it makes a difference if your facial expression matches what you’re singing. The solo piano at the end seems out of place it seems like it ls reinforcing the feeling of the song, it doesn’t need to , the message and feeling is quite clear.

Constructive Comments: I’d pay a little more attention to the harmony. It sounds like it was recorded live, but overdubs to correct vocals is not a bad thing. I have worked on “live” worship projects and we jumped in the studio to correct the live vocals. It’s industry standard and remember that is what you’re competing with. Overall the message got through with the very familiar Bible passage.
