Positive Comments: Great vocals–love the voice, melody and production. Catchy tune. It’s maybe a few years late but so enjoyable. Really really good vocal performance. Harmonies are so effective here. It has elements of The Bangles, Goldfrapp, The Cars, Thomas Dolby and?? Really enjoyed this one!!!

Constructive Comments: The intro is a bit too electro “goofy” for my taste with the “The Cars” boinky mono synth lines. Totally not a deal killer and this was only the intro.

Song: A Little Bit Of Sunshine

Positive Comments: I put down to review a pop song, and this sounds like country to me – maybe the category is not right. This is clearly very squarley in the country category, and is well done. it has a good structure and is easily to follow, the lyrics are clear and the arrangement lets the lyrics speak.

Constructive Comments: Would be nice to hear more live instruments in the mix to give the recording some energy.

Song: Savior

Reviewer: Simon Finn

Positive Comments: This is quite tricky – I think the basic rhythmic idea here is quite strong, but the recording quality is very distracting – its distorted and was clearly mixed over 0db. The harmonies are also out of tune and the whole arrangement is too busy, so that it’s pretty much impossible to hear the lyrics. It’s all very repetitive so it’s hard to feel that the song moves along and develops emotionally.

Constructive Comments: Go back to your original idea, which is strong, and create a simpler arrangement, perhaps paying for a pro-demo to see if the potential in the song can be released. Being a songwriter doesn’t mean you also have to be singer, mix-engineer, masterer, producer, musician etc… This can help you keep focus on what you’re good at.

Positive Comments: I couldn’t quite place the genre of the song given the music, lyrics and arrangement but really enjoyed it nevertheless. It was a lot of fun, had a lot of energy and was very different from the things I usually review on here. Well done!

Constructive Comments: Nothing to add. I think the overall recording quality was the weakest part, but it was still good! Keep up the good work!
