Positive Comments: I like the beat and the keyboards. I like the sound of the lead vocalist as well.

Constructive Comments: The recording is just so rough that I can’t make out the lyrics to the song or if they are even in English. I would redo the recording and increase the vocals.

Positive Comments: I like the lead and backing vocals. Very good beat a well, sounds a little like Dr. Hook.

Constructive Comments: I like the song even though the recording is very rough. I would redo the recording and would cut the song down to 3 minutes for maximum impact, because the song repeats itself just a little too much – best wishes!

Positive Comments: Very cool beat and great sounding drums, I also like the keyboard work – sounds very professional, for some reason it sounds like something that Michael Jackson would have performed.

Constructive Comments: I really like the song however I can’t understand the chorus line (it sounds like Alchemy, but I don’ know), once you take care of that I think the song would be great ( I would use a different approach though and would say “It’s such a tragedy, you put a spell on me” and work some words around that – best wishes!

Positive Comments: This could be a Pearl Jam song! Nice mood and a strong vocal performance. I love the chord scale progression at 3:15–I’d like to hear more of that.

Constructive Comments: Thoughts: Bump the tempo up about 8 bpm. I’d kick drums in at :25. Bombs flying/children dying is too cliche. You’ve got something on the vocal track–hard compression/autotune?? that’s making it sound a bit weird. Also I think you could getter a much better vocal take by relaxing in the performance more and don’t worry about being operatic. By the middle of the song you’re wearing me out with too much heavy handed, slow syllable and intense singing. The tune needs to breathe more and bring more in from the instruments to give it more audio interest. The pop string parts are too sappy for this tune. Don’t take this wrong–I think this is a really good start on a great tune.

Song: Tha Bishop – The Universal Code (Single)

Positive Comments: Nice touch with the Jazz piano changes underneath–this gives a very sophisticated feel. I hear echoes of The Roots and even Diggable Planets. Big compelling voice and the story line pulls you in. The empty arrangement at the very end with the muted bass and the overly chorused guitar part is super cool. There’s a lotta really good stuff going on here. Clever trope here: my wife is Hip Hop.

Constructive Comments: Don’t open up with “fuck” at least not so soon–later on ‘fuck outa here’ works well. But really it detracts from an otherwise slick and mature tune. Even more so with “nigga”. Man it’s time to drop that from the vocabulary IMO. I think you repeat the last hook “real hip hop” too many times in the last section. This is working really well–I think there are tweaks needed and maybe more work on the arrangement but this would be subtle stuff that takes a long time to figure out and experiment with.
