Song: In a Dream

Reviewer: amy abernathy

Positive Comments: I loved the soft simple melody, it gave power to the vocals. It’s a very sweet sound, I liked the background music. I enjoyed listening to it. The lyrics set up the imagery very nicely. It reminded me of old school pop. I could see it being used in a scene for a movie. Godd job!

Constructive Comments: It was a good song, I was thinking that if a bridge that had something diffrent to say, would add alot of interest to the song. However It was a very pretty song. Nice work.

Positive Comments: If I were a video game enthusiast, I would welcome this track playing in my headphones as I plumb the depths of electronica. The hook is SO memorable. The words I would use to describe the “verse” section would be unsettling, raspy, other-worldly, artificial (in a good way). There’s a space-ship, rockety quality to the whole piece, and it soars. The “chorus” section offers some relief to the tension of the verses, a welcome diversion. Section 2 has some cool synth sounds. This is expertly put together, bravo on the production.

Constructive Comments: I hope you can find someone to license or buy this. I am not an expert in that department, but it seems top quality to me and ought to be commercially viable.

Song: One Peaceful Day

Positive Comments: This song was wow from the beginning. The intro was just a taste of the sweet rock instrumentation…the sound of a very tight band. The lead vocal is passionately sung. I love the hook: Just one peaceful day…isn’t that what we all long for? There’s a spoken word section that is clear and innovative…great addition to the song that adds an element of wisdom with some authority. Great production values!

Constructive Comments: Please adjust the mix to bring the vocal up front and center. I could not understand the lyrics! After the review I intend to look up the song to see what you were actually saying. This happens a lot with rock songs I hear on Broadjam. The vocals are lost in the mix. To your credit, I could hear them better in the choruses. Anyway, I am 65 it might be all my fault and perspective, but I had to tell you my thoughts.

Song: In the valey of Gods

Positive Comments: Here’s an instrumental piece that is reminds me of an army marching in winter, with their faces resolutely facing north, not stopping for anything, intent on their mission. The ambiance is dark, determined and tinged with sadness and longing. The synth choral voices add an element of warmth to the piece and drums add to the excitement. Nicely done.

Constructive Comments: The ending section seemed incongruent with the rest of the composition. You ended it with a bang, though. To add interest to the piece, you might try going up an octave with your theme at some point, or add a key change to up the excitement and anticipation. I’m not sure it’s “movie ready” (tho’ I am not an expert on this)…it might still sound too synth-y for that. Please understand that I am reviewing in a genre unfamiliar to me, so take everything I say with a grain of sea salt.
