Positive Comments: Great song. The guitar tone is really good. The drums are doing a great job. The bass is doing it just right. This song is very catchy. I like the song.
Constructive Comments: I really like the song. There are two places where I thought I heard vocals in buried in the back ground. If they are there I would turn them up in the mix. Other than that I loved the song!!!

Song: HOC (the Full Story)

Positive Comments: I love the arrangement of this and the fact that you launch straight in with the vocal with no pre-amble. There are some great lyrics here, you have really “delved” into the mood and the moment and tried to paint really vivid pictures for your listeners. There are some great subtle rhymes too that I think work really well.
Constructive Comments: I don’t think I’ve come across such a long song before, and while I’m all for stretching the boundaries of song-writing I’m not sure the world is ready for such a long song. You have great ideas here, but I would suggest an edit and a more consise “story”.

Song: It Could A Been A Bad Move
Reviewer: Simon Finn
Positive Comments: Really liked this – you have a strong hook and I loved the groove from the outset. What stood out most for me were the lyrics – I really had the sense of a story being told that I needed to follow. It was personal, but interesting. The singer has a really good voice, the kind of voice that draws you in to the song.
Constructive Comments: I’d love to hear this with a more interesting drum and less synthetic drum track.

Positive Comments: This is a jolly song that has the feel of a novelty pop record. You have two simple chord patterns that you repeat and that fit together with a different feel which is good.
Constructive Comments: There are two things I would suggest. Firstly, that you edit this song down. A pop song in this genre should be between 3 and 4 minutes long (maximum). Secondly, consider re-working the lyrics. You have a lot of very obvious rhymes in there and these days, rhymes are much more sophisticated, even in the pop genre. It seems that you’ve aimed to rhyme instead of saying what your song is about. Good luck!

Positive Comments: Wow Randall here, and you have found your mojo. This is a really cool song. The whispered vocals give an urgent and mysterious feel to the tune. The guitar parts are tight and sound good. The groove rolls along. “ain’t good business my friend / to be chasing after the wind” Man that’s powerful!!!
Constructive Comments: Drums could use a lot of work to make it more natural both in terms of arrangement and sound. A better bass part could transform this. I think the lead guitar part is a bit too hard & heavy. Small things–this is really cool to hear you come so far Randall!!!!

Song: Runaway From The Fire

Positive Comments: Excellent work –it’s all there, and this is a compelling tune. There’s an urgent throbbing pulse throughout, strong lyrics and a killer refrain/hook, with tight & tasty work on every instrument and vocals. You may be too young to hear it but I hear echoes of CSNY’s Ohio here, which is cool. The intro is a masterful piece of work–it totally sets a mood, and the choice of bass & drums to open first totally works. Ballsy soloing after verse 1 is great, and I love the atmospheric guitar parts in verse 2. Very strong vocalist.
Constructive Comments: I think the bass is too high in the mix. I’d be tempted to make the bass a bit grittier with a tad of distortion and would want to experiment with legato 8ths instead of staccato (but might stay with staccato). The main thing here is getting the vocals to sit on top more and sound better. They’re kinda lofi and not deep enough –probably need to double the lead vocal subtly. This is great work!!
