Positive Comments: Nice recording, love the live instruments. Nice brush work on the drums and as always superb acoustic guitar playing from my buddy Chet. Harmonic gives it a nice ‘down home’ feeling, very welcoming. Mix is in place, love the organ tucked in there, not featured… just right. Very original and refreshing changes, had me wondering what the next chord was going to be.

Constructive Comments: Out of the box the song strikes me as folk not jazz but as I listen yes, it’s a jazz genre. Feeling like the mix needs a high pass filter set very low around 35hz or 40hz. Vocal seems a little pushed at times, as if the song might be a half step too high. Organ player missed the ending but covered it well (sort of) but a clean tag from that chair would have been more appropriate (I would have rolled it back and punched him in). Kick drum lacks definition, a little ‘boomy’, needed a slight boost in the high mids for attack and to cut slightly better.

Positive Comments: Nice chill intro into a perfect Bossa groove. Nice recording, very clean instruments. Love all the live playing!! Smooth and classic drum track. Over all a very fine and clean recording, doesn’t knock your pants off but it is professional and well produced. Effects are certainly within the acceptable range, just the right amount, not noticeable just felt, nice. Nice percussion and Rhodes piano.

Constructive Comments: Felt that the intro was a little long and nebulous, didn’t have any connection or close relationship to the song. The pocket in the rhythm section is not always tight, seems to be a bit too much emphasis on playing cool patterns than making sure there is always solid time.. not bad, I just noticed some swaying from the groove. Standard 2 and 4 rock groove on the drums, perhaps a Bossa pattern would have been more groovy. Acoustic guitar playing did not do much for the song. Not a strong hook, was not memorable, mostly felt like solo ideas over changes.
