Positive Comments: I liked this composition a LOT and listened to it several times! The piano part provides a wonderful steadiness/grounding, while the strings are delightfully more syncopated and reflective. The effect is one of intimacy, playfulness and love. The chord progression has a softness yet definitiveness about it. Absolutely beautiful piece!
Constructive Comments: I wanted the piece to last longer it was so lovely! I think the arrangement lends itself more towards “Classical-Romantic” than just “Classical-Contemporary”. The string sample you’re using doesn’t do justice to the lovely composition. If you stick with this sample, you might want to work more with the velocity and volume settings in your DAW to give more life to the strings, and work with the panning parameters to give more identity to the instruments. Some DAWs have a “Gate Time” setting on each instrument track that effectively changes short-sounding notes into smooth/legato notes. That feature is particularly good for samples that don’t play good legato lines. Afterwards, perhaps you could add some delay or more reverb (or even double the string track) so that the strings are more lush and the piece in general has more spaciousness to it.
