Positive Comments: Good song, both tune and lyrics. Instrumental backup was excellent. I’m a big fan of the Leslie sound, and the organ was well integrated. Vocals, both lead and harmonies were well done. Guitars, both picked and slide, were also very well done. Good mix, Vocals stood out well as did all the instruments, which in lesser quality mixes tend to get lost or walk over each other.

Constructive Comments: Everything sounded good to me. Keep up the good work.

Positive Comments: I loved this song. Rockabilly meets Chuck Berry. All the solos rocked, but especially the guitar breaks (I’m a picker myself). This is a great example of the best years of rock and roll when you just had to get up off your seat and dance.

Constructive Comments: Can,t think of anything, Just keep on creating this great music that keeps us middle agers feeling young.

Positive Comments: The lyrics, unfortunately, reflect the state of the world today, but then also give us hope if we only seek it. I like the simple instrumental backing, especially the cello. Nice touch. You have a very nice voice which fits perfectly with this song.

Constructive Comments: The vocals, although understandable and well performed, could have been brought out a bit more in the mix. A little reverberation might help.

Positive Comments: Although it is obviously not intended to be a top ten radio hit, it is a fun children’s song with a positive message. Simple, but effective guitar accompaniment. The message could easily apply to some of us “bigger sheep” too. The lyrics go well with the musical tune, and the addition of the “baas” of the sheep at the end could help children relate more to the lyrics.

Constructive Comments: The last few words at the end (just before the sheep sounds) were a little hard to understand.

Positive Comments: The song construction is fairly solid, and the lyrics roll through with meaning and flow. I think this is FlavaHype…as usual there are lyrics that really deserve to be heard.

Constructive Comments: The instrumental tracks could really use some work. The drum track is really “ticky” with a lot of chirpy high hat, and it doesn’t have much groove or variation. The string patches, etc need much more variation. Listen to the latest De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest–the bar has been raised so high with odd glitchy beats, lush samples and found sound bits introduced throughout and sometimes appearing only once in an entire tune. I think the vocal needs to break off the one strained vibe that it has on the hook “I’m Creepin”

Positive Comments: I not fan of electronic trance…that is until now. A pulse pounding electrically eclectic beauty, there is so much to this song. Although I’ve heard this beat style, this one is almost unique. The lead notes on the keys run, dance and weave in and out and all about the root beat. There is a fine seductiveness just in the instrumental tracks alone, but wow…add that vocal and have it baby!Haven’t got up and grooved to a tune in a while. This one will have everyone the dance floor chillin’ and maxin’. I will have to listen to more of this artist.

Constructive Comments: Hope this song has already a hit.

Song: Lost In Love

Positive Comments: An extremely romantic ballad, slightly eighties sounding, with a voice vaguely reminding of McCartney – a harmonized guitar solo – it’s not unpleasant.

Constructive Comments: I’m not sure that this sound is commercially viable nowadays, which I don’t know if it is of any concern.

Positive Comments: Here’s a song about the man that you see standing on the freeway ramp, holding his sign, begging for help. This is really well-written and the performance is convincing and grabs the listener by the collar. Definitely a shake-up, unsettling song for anyone who has looked the other way rather than right into the eyes of our exit-ramp beggars. There’s some really fresh and clever lyric-writing here “when the sun went blue” “life in a bag” (love that!). I appreciate the honesty of the lyrics. He’s not just dissing the drivers. He knows he was one of them at one time. The chorus is convincing “but tonight I’m hungry and cold.” That’s what really matters to him right now.

Constructive Comments: I think I’ve only heard one other song on this subject…you did a fantastic job on this. I like the way you get inside the head of the man asking for help. “so many things I could have done”. This is a really important song, and I am so glad you wrote it. I hope that wherever you perform it, it will do some good and make people think. I always keep packaged food in my car for these guys. I have also read articles on how much they pull in per day (tax free). But how do you know who are the “real down and outers” are? How do you differentiate between the able-bodied people who prefer begging to working? It’s a quandary for sure!
