Reviewer: Bonfire

Positive Comments: I think it is in the Pop genre, but it also has a country feel. Very sing a long, and You can imagine it being sung in a bar in the USA, with a good fan flollowing and maybe line dancing. Has melodic quality, nice fade out. Mellow singing and maybe a Jack Daniels to savour while you listen and tap your feet.

Constructive Comments: Good ‘Western’ voice, maybe Ward Bond. Singer enjoying telling his story and sharing with his audience. Definitely a Country western feel to this Pop track. Good arrangement, and developed well

Positive Comments: Strong in originality and lyrics. Arrangement unusual, singer reaching high in parts, a bit in a sixties style.I’m not sure what artist it reminded me of, but there was a hint of a more well known singer.Maybe vary pitch slightly more, with some lower notes.

Constructive Comments: I think some variation in the pitch, maybe a pure instrumental part between the original lyrics in the arrangement.Perhaps a more ‘base’ hook or refrain too, and a fade out at teh end.

Song: Lonely Out Here

Reviewer: Michael Cregan

Positive Comments: Very good melody and like the emotion in the vocal. The playing is good and falls into a nice groove. Very clear theme and and a bit of a different approach. Good piano. I like the phrase, “It’s lonely out here.” Really hits.

Constructive Comments: While I like the emotion in the vocal, I think the sound, mix of it needs to be stronger to give a bit more presence. Along with this, the track would benefit from a bit more energy. It is a sad song, true, but it lays back just a bit too much.

Walk A Mile In My Blues by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: Walk A Mile In My Blues

Reviewer: The Bitter Elegance

Positive Comments: This has great placement potential! Some fine playing with an incredible atmosphere. I could listen to this player all day. I like the chorus and delay on the tone – it gives the solo guitar quite a bit of depth. For being such a laid back piece, it never drags. I really like where the chords go dissonant near the end – it gave me goosebumps!!!!

Constructive Comments: It is tough to find things to improve upon. It isn’t possible to do a Delta blues tune and be incredibly original without leaving the genre, so while I did not mark this as especially high on originality, I do not think it makes sense to try and improve on that aspect. The only real thing I hear is that the recording is very quiet, and I worry that without it being up to today’s (somewhat ridiculous) volume standards, that it might get overlooked for TV/Film. This is really enjoyable – GREAT player!

Positive Comments: Interesting melange of hard to pigeonhole styles and effects, very mood orientated stuff, lots of interesting ideas.

Constructive Comments: Recording has a distant roomy , reverb to the sound, it might be a live feed or something, but it is pretty distracting and not helping you at all. Drums are way to loud in spots …. basically mix and recording are in need of work. Probably goes on to long for something this generally down absent any kind of real build or structural change. Hard to really judge the material given the recording, definitely some interesting ideas.

Positive Comments: Love the production. Very clean and creative recording. Whoever mixed this cut did a wonderful job, especially with drums. The drums are very clean on this cut.

Constructive Comments: I don’t really have any criticism for this cut. I thought that it was well composed and well produced. I could understand some of the lyrics he was singing but outside of that, I like it.
