Song: Whispers In The Darkness

Positive Comments: This is well structured throughout. It’s a good solid ballad with all the appropriate elements in place, played with a sound arrangement and well sung too! I love the way the vocal hooks appear in the verse and the chorus.

Constructive Comments: I felt that there was perhaps too much reliance on both musical and lyric cliches here and that there needed to be more “sharpness” to the writing – perhaps a more unusual title or lyric hook and some surprise harmonies, to really lift this out of the pile and make it stand out.

Positive Comments: I really like the beat and the sound of the lead and rhythm guitars sounds a little like Dr. Hook.

Constructive Comments: The recording is very rough and it’s tough just trying to make out the vocals however, I did like the sound of the guitars – I think this song needs drums to help it along also – best wishes!

Constructive Comments: I didn’t hear anything I would change. I loved it. The ending cut off kind of abrupt. You might want to change that. Leave the rest alone. Great song. Hope you have good luck with it!!!

Positive Comments: The vocals sounded great. The instrumentation was good. The guitars were nice and thick. The lyrics were great.

Constructive Comments: I like this song. It has a good message. The mix could use some work. I would start by rolling off the bass below 40 cycles. Then I would find a sweet spot between 200 to 400 cycles to drop off about 6db. That should get rid of the mud in the mix and make your vocals and guitars pop a little more. Great song though, keep up the good work!!!

Positive Comments: Very well arranged, well played, and very rocking tune. Kudos to al participants, love the little ” you can do it ” bg lines, reminds of ELO meets Wilbury’s.

Constructive Comments: As above, I enjoyed listening to this because it rocks so well and is very well played and sung. The lyrics though strike me as really vague, I still have no idea what this guy is trying to accomplish or who is trying to stop him, and in general I’m not fan of the ” I can make it in the industry ” type of tunes … maybe if was very specific as in Sinatra doing ” NY, NY ” because that the song is about NYC and very, very positive in attitude. I think the slide at the end might be a tad loud.
