Positive Comments: Casting a song’s genre is a tough job. This song is in the Folk-Contemporary genre….in my opinion this is a jazz and pop “standard”… It is not a folk song. The song is well sung and the singer has a strong presence and timber that is dead-center in the jazz-pop genres. The song idea is common (aren’t they all at this point-in-time), so what makes a song unique and separates it from the pack? I think it is the cadence, the melody and unique twists in the lyrical content and I think you do/did that very nicely throughout the whole song. It clearly has a future with the right artist singing it, in a music library and/or movie or TV track. Nice job.

Constructive Comments: My only constructive comment has to do with the arrangement, which with what you have does a nice job presenting the song. But, I think it deserves a richer, beefier backing track. I think a B3 organ would add a bluesy touch that could really spark the track instead of the bell-link pad currently in the track. Also, some simple, laid-back strings would fill the track up. Finally, I would add a few spots were a duet would pop in and out and maybe some backing “Ooo-& Ahhs”.I only offer these suggestions if you are considering doing a different version of the song (which is something I do many times). Anyway, good luck with the song and thanks for sharing….
