Song: Keep On Jumpin’

Positive Comments: I like the funky guitar riff played against the beat. I think the song has potential to be something greater.

Constructive Comments: The guitar riff is cool but after about 20 seconds, the song gets stuck because it doesn’t really go anywhere arrangement wise. I think the song would benefit from a few chord changes, some additional instrumentation, and a better mix to break the monotony. The “hook” section changes thing up a little but doesn’t lift the energy level/ With instrumentals, you always have to keep things interesting since there are no lyrics. It’s a challenge but it can be done. good luck.

Song: Turn It Over

Positive Comments: Solid party song. The vocalist’s energy on the track is great. The song has potential.

Constructive Comments: In my opinion, the song can benefit from real horns and bass, or at least more realistic sounding samples. The horns especially are not convincing. Adding a few other elements and maybe updating the drum sounds as well can go a long way to making this song sound more contemporary. Lyrically, although it’s fun, there’s nothing interesting or new. Think of maybe adding a twist on the concept so to make the song stand out.

Positive Comments: Great vocal and lyrics of high intelligence. Nice strings. Pleasant sentiment.

Constructive Comments: Drags a bit in that it doesn’t really reach a climax of music or words, so I’m not sure the tv guys will buy it. Nice though.

Song: When I Think About You (#1 Male Vocal)

Reviewer: Taylor and Leigh

Positive Comments: Definitely a country song. Gets to the grit of the song quickly, which is great. Some nice chord progressions. Use of the California Hills imagery is great. Love the lead solo bridge.

Constructive Comments: The lyric becomes a little over-used? maybe work on it not being too repetitive. Maybe drop one of the last chorus’s and bring the solo in sooner? Also I would try dropping the slide guitar from the start and introducing it a little later. I would also lower it in the mix, it sounds a little intrusive at it’s current level? You have a great voice with a fragility to it reminiscent of Johnny Cash.
