Positive Comments: Definitely a country song. Gets to the grit of the song quickly, which is great. Some nice chord progressions. Use of the California Hills imagery is great. Love the lead solo bridge.
Constructive Comments: The lyric becomes a little over-used? maybe work on it not being too repetitive. Maybe drop one of the last chorus’s and bring the solo in sooner? Also I would try dropping the slide guitar from the start and introducing it a little later. I would also lower it in the mix, it sounds a little intrusive at it’s current level? You have a great voice with a fragility to it reminiscent of Johnny Cash.
