Broadjam Artist: Tristyn Leach
Song: Battle Field ( instrumental)
Reviewer: Floyd Kelly
Positive Comments: I’m a sweeper. OK, I admit it. It’s all I do, all day, every day … all I do is sweep the floors. Well, mostly because it’s my job as janitor. I listen to funkadelic kind of music on my headphones when I’m just … sweeping … and sweeping – all night. This electronica music with it’s heavy beat and exotic transitions would be perfect for me tonight when I’m in the building all alone, just sweeping and sweeping. It’s hard to stay awake sometimes and this music will help keep me’s bliminy eyes open.
Constructive Comments: I think some of the mix on the drum elements could be improved to give more depth. There doesn’t seem to be a driving or backing bass component which is different. I like those exotic phrases played by the synth strings. I think that sweeper instrument in the intro could have been more present – just a thought. The beat seems to be off in parts. There seems to be a “centeredness” about this regarding the possible sound field experience – meaning, if you ever do a remix on this – reverb and stereo and panning combined would give this piece a new dynamic and fill the sound field for the listener. Please remember, until now I have never heard this and know nothing about the artist, the creators of this piece or the environment it was created in. The imagery provided in the first part is in good spirits. Have a great day today!
