Song: Wish I knew you (2015 instrumental demo)

Positive Comments: This is a beautiful musical piece which evokes emotions of suspense and darkness. The combination of instruments creates a mental image of autumn’s falling leaves or a movie clip of flying above autumnal terrains. One could easily read and listen to this without interruption 🙂

Constructive Comments: The piano sounds muddy and needs a cut in the EQ. The musical piece started off-the-bat with no introduction. The EQ on the piano needs a bit of presence. That beautiful violin should have come into the piece earlier. I can’t tell what instrument is the rhythm, sounds like a melodic drum or harpsichord. I think some serious EQ on percussion and the piano would take this musical piece to the next level.

Positive Comments: This would be nice in a child’s playroom or cradle area. It is peaceful and soothing. Also reminds me of a sweet little scene in a Disney movie – a music backdrop. The children should like this piece of music.

Constructive Comments: At the 1:40 mark my ears became tired. When I first hit the play button I was excited for something really sweet. I then felt let-down – but then comes in this what sounds like a viola with a touch of reverb to save the piece. I think the instrumentation could be made wider and fuller to capture my essence of my being as I am listening. The repetitive rhythmic keyboard in the background is cute but found a little tiresome and my musical ears wanted a variation.

Positive Comments: I like the instrument choice and the arrangement. Reminds me of something similar to Kenny G. At first the opening is happily reminiscent of soulful 80’s tracks which are some of my favorites. I like the depth of the percussion.

Constructive Comments: The opening instrument seems a little farther away could be closer or enhance the presence in the EQ. I hear a string pad in the back which might add more flair to the piece if the volume comes up a tad. The saxxy instrument doesn’t sound real. I was really excited about this upon listening. I actually listened twice before writing anything. I was hoping for more. I think another chorus or verse needs to be added to the piece to sufficiently make the point of the piece.

Positive Comments: It is a nice and fluid composition and arrangement 🙂 It reminds me of someting tribal or something with a fusion – something nice to listen to while driving down Pacific Coast highway with the top down on the convertible.

Constructive Comments: My musical ear wanted to hear more of a string backdrop to lift the emotional state of the music and away from the drums. I heard a pad or vocal which might add more drama to the music. I did not get the hook though.

Positive Comments: Thank you for this. Nicely arranged and recorded. Small complaint – my musical ear wanted a stop or variance in the music – other than that – nice music craft and EQ/Mix/Mastering 🙂 I classified it as Country though at low volume, makes a nice backdrop.

Constructive Comments: I do not have anything to add into this box right here.

Positive Comments: I liked ‘all that work and all that pain isn’t worth a grain of sand’. Good lyrics all round. Enjoyed it when the drums kicked in and the lead guitar around 1.40. Sweet guitar at the end.

Constructive Comments: Not much to add, its really good. I suppose there is a tiny bit of room for improvement in the vocals but they were in tune and good still.

Positive Comments: I enjoyed the first minute a lot and then the second half. It brought back fond memories of playing Super Smash Bros! I think there is strong market potential as video game music.

Constructive Comments: Not much to add, it’s great! I suppose vocals too wouldn’t hurt, I’d imagine them being in Japanese if they were added, but it works great as is.

Constructive Comments: Though the singing is good and if this was live I’d be very impressed, there are a few notes that aren’t quite hitting the spott, not many, but there is a tiny little bit of room for improvement.

Positive Comments: This was moving, very real, raw. At first it reminded me of Evanescence but then became totally different. Good singing, nice clear lyrics.

Constructive Comments: It would have been nice for there to be more of a crescendo or more changes in the second half. The first few cries of ‘momma, i don’t know what to do!’ were great, gripping, but then I thought it was maybe repeated a bit too much without enough new instrumental added in the second half to help keep the second half ‘fresh’. Enjoyable and interesting though!
