Positive Comments: A very nice version of this traditional anti-war song. Lush guitar sound…(twelve string?) …nice vocal with the appropriate accent to match…Kinda puts Dylan’s version to shame, huh? For what it is…it’s 5 stars…not Paul Brady…but very nice.

Constructive Comments: There’s just too much reverb/effect on the vocal track…kinda rings in your ears at the end of the verse. Muddles the story a bit…the accent, while adding authenticity was tough to discern by this Yank.

Reviewer: Phil Ades

Positive Comments: I like the way it moves from acoustic to reggae to a full group sound but always keeping the core tune, it’s a song you want to hear again because there are a lot of interesting parts to the all over sound, Well done!

Constructive Comments: I don’t think I’d change anything, it kept me interested all the way through. The blend of male/female vocals is really good and the varied instrumentation really brings out the vibe of the song, it has a quality feel about it.

Constructive Comments: I cant make any comments here, I enjoyed the song there was nothing I would change, I am mainly into lyrics, and this is something I would be proud yo put my name on. I can say no more, nice job

Positive Comments: Goodness. this is very far from the music I listen to. The percussion is intense, almost painfully so, and repetitive until desperation. The lyrics I can not hear, this is not my cup of tea, but that does not mean that it is not good – I just can not tell if it is. To me it sounds frantic and extreme, which very likely is exactly what it means to express.

Constructive Comments: I can not give advice on this, I don’t know enough about the genre. But good luck to the band, it certainly takes energy to make this kind of music.

Positive Comments: It is very difficult for me to listen to this piece of music, it pulsates in a way that makes it hard to breathe. It may just be my problem – others may not be bothered by the pulsation, but to me it is almost painful. I can not hear the lyrics, which are spoken, not sung, by a rather pleasant, female voice. It is not my kind of music, but I appreciate the effort.

Constructive Comments: I am not familiar with the genre so can not give advice.

Positive Comments: This is a big, large ( not as in long but as in voluminous) and impressive piece of music. It is not my cup of tea, but I enjoy the percussion and the ‘jungle’ feeling. I write lyrics, I am not a musician so my opinion is strictly home-grown. Please take it as that.

Constructive Comments: I don’t know enough about the genre to have advice or suggestions to share.

Song: Big Blue

Reviewer: Birthe Noer Myers

Positive Comments: I am so sorry to give your song such low scores. I can hear the potential and the effort is evident, but the recording is very fuzzy and that makes the whole thing sound messy. I think there is a good piece of music hiding within what now is more noise than music. I wish you very good luck repairing it and doing it justice.

Constructive Comments: I am not a musician, so it is possible that I have just not heard it right! I write lyrics, and have a low tolerance for this kind of music. I’m a fossil when it comes to music.

Positive Comments: Enthusiastic singer reminds me of something from “A Mighty Wind”. This got by me, but I suspect it’s a kids song that teaches stories from the good book. I can see this being marketed to children on a collection album.

Constructive Comments: I have no idea what you mean by “they have a return”…all I can come up with is a bottle return for a nickel…that’s what goes through my mind…but I’m sure that’s not even close. It’s probably a religious term…”they have a return on their labor”..??? “Two is better than one”…don’t put those two together….oh well…guess Im a heathen…lol

Constructive Comments: Clumsy start….clumsy end….not a good recording…needs some variation somewhere..drums about drove me crazy. Singer was pretty lifeless…sad boy for sure…not uplifting in any way…a hard listen.

Positive Comments: Good solid demo…clear voice, wonderful guitar sound and good fill. It’s one of those tunes that kinda sticks with you…don’t know why, don’t wanna know…probably will never know. Was that Greg Lambert?

Constructive Comments: This is gonna sound weird, but the lyrics reminded me of Donald Rumsfeld….I was totally distracted…and if distracted, this song is confusing…the verses were very interesting but wordy and I guess I wasn’t in the mood to figure it out. Don’t take this criticism too seriously…just being honest. Good luck….
