All American Girl by Keith Taylor

Broadjam Artist: Keith Taylor
Song: All American Girl

Reviewer: Margie & Art Corey, S. & A. Corey

Positive Comments: This has a very Country Pop sound, nicely done! Excellent vocal, if this is the songwriter performing his own vocals….you are lucky!! Nice arrangement…well conceived!! The American Girl theme, may not be that original, but the composition is so well performed, that it does work quite well!! Good job everyone……….lets hear more!!

Constructive Comments: Maybe have the lead vocal up a little higher in the mix, it’s hard to understand the words without seeing the lyrics!! But other than that…….great job!!! Oh…..good drummer too!!! Like the pan in the drum mix from right, center, left………….COOL!!!

Positive Comments: Awesome! Great snappy intro. Very nice bass! (I’m a bass player). I wonder if the bass is a guitar or programmed, it sounds so perfect! Horn section melody and solos are extremely easy to enjoy. Drums are very tasteful, driving a very nice groove. A very nice bright and happy song. I love how the instrumentation steadily dissolves into the ending, an interesting fade out!

Constructive Comments: Broadjam wants me to offer some constructive criticism but it’s always impossible to do with a song such as this. I can’t find anything to criticize. Let me go critique some of Stanley Clark’s music first (just as impossible to do). Very nice work, keep it up. Best Wishes!

Song: We Don’t Need Another War

Reviewer: Bob Bentley

Positive Comments: Great sentiment, with fine vocals and tight harmonies. A simple but effective arrangement with mainly guitar and very cool piano.

Constructive Comments: Whilst the lyrics are obviously anti war, some of the references were not so clear. For instance, I didn’t get the repeated line “why can’t we hear them cry”? However, the writer must have had a reason for the line.Good luck with the song, thank you.

Positive Comments: I liked the story telling, a very nice song. It was nice that you took childhood memories and your family and made it into a song. I know many can relate to it.

Constructive Comments: I felt it took a little long to get to the chorus, you told a good story but it dragged a bit. There were times when the vocals went a little flat in the chorus, however you did sing it very well.

Positive Comments: Kind of reminds me of some old Righteous Brother, nice. Nice vocal chops.

Constructive Comments: I like it, but it does sound a little dated. Needs a little something else. It’s your tune, you’d know better than me, but maybe a nice (tasty) guitar solo, but something to bring it up a little. But, I really like what you’re done.
