Positive Comments: This has a pleasant feel and comes off nice and smooth. It is performed well and the instrumentation fits. The back-up vocals are nice and I felt there should have been more of them, especially in the chorus.

Constructive Comments: The lead vocal was OK but the effect used for it didn’t seem to fit the feel of the song. I think a standard reverb would make it sound better and bring it out better.

Positive Comments: You have a very strong and forceful voice. I would like to hear that voice pulled out of this genre and put into a jazz or blues song. I bet there are some great tunes that would utilize the power of your vocals a lot more than what you have presented here. I do love your voice. Maybe even suitable for a classical setting, as in a chorale piece.

Constructive Comments: This song reminds me of what I might hear on American Idol. And that is in the sense of the vocals. I guess I’m not trying to be too negative without being constructive, but I would suggest with this type of “pop” sounding tune, there should be more structure in the phrasing, rather than sounding repetitive. I really do appreciate what you have done with the song.

Positive Comments: The combination of mixed instruments throughout, introduced one by one, and then a new instrument again and again definitely gives the song a freshness. It has an uplifting quality to it.Good job on the arrangement, even though I gave that a 3, I do think there are many great themes going on in this song. Actually, I am disappointed that the song was only 4 minutes long. I would have liked to hear more of it continuing and building.

Constructive Comments: The song takes about a minute to actually get to a building beat, but then drops off to perhaps a bridge that then loses that previously built energy. Going on the sense of freshness that I mentioned in the positive comments, yes, there is a freshness, but the repetition keeps my pretty flat on any energy change in the song, even with dynamics. I would say with the sections with no driving percussion and then to the sections with the driving percussion, provide some dynamic contrasts to make it more provocative.

Positive Comments: It reminds me a lot of the group Tangerine Dream. Especially with the way the song starts with a intro theme, and then switches on to a new theme, and then builds. Very cool. You should submit this song for use in a movie or TV spot. It definitely has this dramatic feel that would go good in a drama set. The majority of the song sounds very “electric” in its energy.

Constructive Comments: The pulsing at about 3:45 is kind of distracting, but tends to resolve to nothing rather than building onto the next level. Which seems to be fine because I like how it sort of just went down in pitch and volume to the fade. And so I would say try to make that strong pulse not so out-front when the direction of the song from there is going down. As I said in the positive comments, the song sounds very “electric” in its energy, however, the energy is sort of just on the surface, and I had hoped for a hair-raising experience, but didn’t get quite that. Please know that I really did like your piece! 🙂

Positive Comments: I like how it was short and sweet. It got my attention right away, and with the shortness of the tune it made me happy that it did not go on and on with the same theme (which is what I tend to do too much of). This was a cool song and I do like it.

Constructive Comments: The piano loop was only a single measure of material. I would say try to make the piano part not as repetitive, which would make the last part of the song roll more with uniqueness. There appears to be a switch in the middle part of the song which gives a sense of being disconnected. I am not sure if this is a pro or a con for the song, but I noticed it quite strongly. If that was intended, then good job.

Positive Comments: The sound is right from the first moment and takes you into a movie right away. The melody works well with the underlying driving rhythm to create a feel of agitation always coming in early and pushing forward really hard.I can see many film scenes were this film score would be great fit, e.g. a car chase. There are very short pauses – when you think the hero made it – but then the haunting theme comes back.

Constructive Comments: This is perfect film music, there is not much I can think of that would make it better. The instrumentation is building to a climax consistently and convincingly. Only thing is that the song is quite short – actually 40 sec + a repeat and end. There might be a possibility to build the song slower to one climax instead of repeating. May be consider ending on a climax instead of kind of fading. I know – it’s easier to say than to do … It still is a great film score, no question!
