Song: Out of the Gaze of the Evil Eye

Reviewer: Daryan Wells

Positive Comments: I love the way it took back into the mid 80’s. Instantly i could see this song being featured on a movie soundtrack for any movie that depicts the drug use in the 80’s. Never the less it’s a good song and has potential to be even batter. Keep up the good work and don’t let anyone discourage you on your road to destiny.

Constructive Comments: We need to hear something more up to date

Constructive Comments: More emotions and passion, I wanna visual what you see when you work not just what it makes me think. Take me into your world and let me view it from your eyes. I didn’t feel that with this.

Positive Comments: This is well performed and tight with some very nice, moody sounds, and groovy Latin backing underneath.

Constructive Comments: It’s basic but everything you’re doing is good. A really strong melody (or vocals) would be the key ingredient to making this a stronger tune. Nice work!

Positive Comments: Great lyrics. I liked the tone of the singer’s voice. Right voice for this type of song. An easy song to listen to. Something you might hear on Coffee House. Really liked the hook. Liked the transitions. I can feel the angst in the main character/singer.

Constructive Comments: I don’t have any constructive comments as I liked the song as it is. I might suggest that this song could have greater impact if other instruments were added to the mix. Other instruments could help suck the listener deeper into the mood of the song.

Emperor of China by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Broadjam Artist: Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods
Song: Emperor of China

Reviewer: John Hazlett

Positive Comments: Sort of a piece for a ballet.

Constructive Comments: It’s difficult to know where to start. The instrumentation sounds overly artificial. If the music rendering software uses sf2 soubdfonts, a good one to try is Palpamedia GS/GM soundings. They aren’t perfect, but some of the instruments are very good. Also, the sitar is out of place and over powers the others. Try sticking with a simpler theme and chord progression.

Song: Overnight Success

Reviewer: Ober Rivers And His DUI’S

Positive Comments: Sleazy bluesy desperate little vamp with solid performances all round.

Constructive Comments: Performances are solid enough but I can’t honestly tell what the hook is…. maybe ” Tonights the night” or ” Overnight Success” . For me I’d try and distill that idea down to a more compact form, make it a little shorter, and put something behind musically it that was more suited to a really depressing down and dirty feeling of desperation. The cheesy synths don’t work for me. There’s also some spots when the vocals are quite out.
