Positive Comments: The concept is pretty cool – use a static, hypnotic background with sax melodies behind it and electronic instrumentation.

Constructive Comments: For my money, I would use more convincing electronic programmed instruments – the ones in this arrangement don’t really work so well. Also, in my opinion, I think a layered groove in the background with more busy rhythms would work really well – maybe a more syncopated rhythm in the cowbell sound with some kind of hand drum maybe? Also a bass line of some kind (even a static one) would help the arrangement. The sax sounds very hesitant at times and was a little behind the whole time. That works for certain genres of music, but my ear wants to hear sax right on top of the beat. The two or three measure space early in the song could be filled with something, either melodic or additional textural element. Good luck!

Positive Comments: This to me is a coin flip whether to call it jazz or electronica. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that keyboard sound in my life – it sounds like something churning, but it sounds really cool. I hear this as electronica because it has a repetitive, hypnotic rhythm, which a lot of electronica artists like Cinematic Orchestra and Thievery Corporation use. I like the electronic sax-like melody and the rhythm underneath.

Constructive Comments: This is just my opinion, but I would like to hear the keyboard sound blend into the background more once the rhythm section came in. It probably wouldn’t hurt to have some variation of instrumentation once the guitar solo comes in, like extra percussion or additional keyboard sound.

Positive Comments: This song is very well written, recorded, arranged, and orchestrated. I love the variety of instrumentation from section to section, from guitar to sax to flute and organ stabs here and there. Rhythm is very tight top to bottom, as smooth jazz has to be in order to work. I like the intro percussion and pad that leads to the main melody as well. The mixing is done very well. I can clearly hear all the instruments in the spectrum, and I don’t hear frequencies competing for space. Great tune!

Constructive Comments: Anything I add would just be my own taste. On my in-ear headphones I could use a little more bottom end, maybe more bass guitar. And a little more homogenous mastering perhaps? But that’s just my opinion.

Positive Comments: I loved the bouncy beat to this song it was very cool.

Constructive Comments: The vocals were very low compared to the music, they needed a mic to be turned up a bit. I don’t think you had a clear recording of the vocals, they were not clear. The majority of the song I could not hear or understand vocals.I would say get a better recording .

Constructive Comments: I know this is a demo, but having a finished recording would be a good investment for this song. A few places sounded out of tune in singing, but autotune would correct that. It is a lovely song.

Positive Comments: If you need a crazy fix, listen to this funny song about a guy’s monkey who died. Engaging and humorous. Cute and catchy chorus. Simple instrumentation and production suits the wacky track. Almost has an island feel to it. This is super creative. I like it when you write, perform and record something like this (even if you know you might not make a penny on it). It’s worth it just amuse yourself and the folks who get a chance to listen to your unique work.

Constructive Comments: World religious? Ahem, how about Unique Comedy? I did have a problem understanding all the lyrics. The spoken word parts can be a little muddy…especially when you have one voice over another. Makes it kind of tough on the listener. Otherwise a good mix, though. I’ll have to look at the lyrics to catch the whole story of what I could not understand.

Constructive Comments: good song the only thing i would say to make it perfect would be to extend the break by a few notes or cut the percussion by two beats around 2.47 so there is not that little pause. a minor change in what is a cool. enjoyed
