Song: Nothin’ I can do about the Wrinkles

Positive Comments: This is a very retro song. Initially I thought it was a children’s song but given the subject matter that would not be suitable. Reminds me of the Beverly Sisters, it is humorous and witty and fun.I like the way it sends up the beauty brands and I am a fan of a funky fiddle. It is very unique and could be a cult hit.

Constructive Comments: It is a satirical song addressing the beauty and anti ageing obsessions of many women. I agree with the general message. Let you face tell your story! It is unusual and that sound of saccharine sweet harmonies are both liked and disliked in equal measure. I can’t suggest any improvement it needs to find an appreciative audience.

Positive Comments: A jazzy cabaret style song with a great voice and accompaniment. Entertaining, a universal topic, heat!. A very confident singer on top of his lyrics well integrated into the backing music. It has a strong retro sound of entrances to grand hotels I wouldn’t call it pop it is too sophisticated and the genre needs to reflect the natural market for the song.

Constructive Comments: It to me sounds like a late night jazz club standard. This is a popular but minority appeal. Whilst it is contemporary it could be from any of probably five previous decades. The piano intro is good and the voice unusual and appealing. I can’t recommend any way to improve the song besides getting it to the right audience.

Positive Comments: There’s something musical/lyrical about the name Caroline. This love song uses it to great advantage. Love the clear vocals and female harmonies complementing. Fiddle is really sounding great to me.

Constructive Comments: Question: Take momma’s love to heart (what does that mean?)I’m begotten of you (what does that mean). The correct use of begotten would be birth of a child. Did her love give birth to you?Waistin’ should be wastin’. Sorry I am a grammar/spelling freak.

Positive Comments: The melody is a nice catchy tune that sticks in your mind, and the guitars back it up well. The voice reminded me of Donovan. The lyrics reminded me of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love”, especially where you say you would walk over hot coals and that you’d have the strength God gave you. I really like your use of double-rhyme words like disguises and devices.

Constructive Comments: I liked the opening idea of saving the world in order to get the girl. I was confused by saying that “heroes come in all disguises…but not me”, because it seems like you’re a hero if you’re going to save the world. If you’re not a hero, maybe you could say what you are. Could you explain how “mirrors on the wall deceive me” fits here because s superhero should have no trouble with understanding what a mirror is. Maybe that’s what you mean when you say you’re not a hero? Finally, the online lyrics should be updated to reflect the lyrics that are sung. Maybe if you said heroes come in all disguises and said how you fit that description.

Positive Comments: This would be a great song for a groom to sing to his bride on their wedding day. The vocals are right on and super-sweet, definitely drenched with love, well communicated. Beautiful guitar work complement the lyrics. Love the alliteration with Cupid/culprit.

Constructive Comments: Cupid is spelled with a d. Sealing the deal…I get it but it came across so…business-like.

Positive Comments: This song reminded me of the 1970’s. Reminiscent of a hippie hitchhiking down the road…just to get away. Far from home – very memorable hook. I love the lyric “might run out of money but won’t run out of time.” That’s a keeper! Crystal clear lyric, nice guitar work/instrumentation.

Constructive Comments: Were you singing about me when I was hippie? Ha ha. Loved your song!
