Positive Comments: This is a very pleasing song. Love the wonderful guitar playing and vocal. The vocal is passionate and when the artist soars up into his upper falsetto range, it’s just really cool. The message of the song is pretty simple. He has a little pink guitar that brings happiness to children through its music and the way it expresses the sounds of nature. Definitely unique and original. I found it refreshing! Keep the great music coming!

Constructive Comments: I could not understand what you were saying “Little Pink Guitar” till you were 2/3 away through the song. I just kept saying, “what is he saying?” Then when I finally figured out what you were saying, the song began to make sense to me. Question: Do you REALLY play a little pink guitar? (I play a little blue Rainsong guitar!)

Positive Comments: Here’s a fun rap song for kids. The artist’s voice is clear and kid-friendly. Not too fast, either, which is unique and great for a rap artist. Some of them fire off lyrics so fast you can’t keep up with them. This song has 3 goals. Teaching the alphabet and counting up to 11, and inspiring kids to get and complete their education so they can be successful…from the day care on up. I found it fun and refreshing. I like the way the artist introduced himself in the song. I like the beat and instrumentation, perfect and appropriate for a kids song.

Constructive Comments: You might want to re-classify this as Unique-Children. Did I hear “grandmother”? Sounds like a guy to me. Work on a more pleasing instrumental ending…just seems like you dropped off too abruptly there.

Positive Comments: This is a different kind of love song. Kind of a wishful thinking monologue on what a guy would do for his girl/wife if he had money. I like the part about sitting by the fire/lost in your eyes. That is a great lyric. Smile on your face/wind in your wings also a great thought. Definitely heartfelt and sincere.

Constructive Comments: Please post the lyrics to this song. I could not understand it all. For some reason, the piano sounds a little “off” to me. I don’t know if it’s out of tune, or if the effect you had on the piano made it seem weird. The way the lyrics come across to me sounds like the guy is poor…if he had money he’d do this and that for her (a pair of flip flops? doesn’t sound too romantic to me, sounds kind of cheap, but maybe that’s just my own values speaking, ha ha.) The flower sounded good though, and the little black dress. But I’ll play piano and you pay the rent…just comes across as too cheap.

Positive Comments: This is quite a bizarre mix of classical and electronic which is quite appealing and unusual. The listener cannot predict what is coming next. The skill level of the musicianship is high I like the sound of the water in the mix and the traditional piano playing. it is suitable for a niche opportunity possibly.

Constructive Comments: The unpredictability of the music is a strength and a weakness, you are not quite sure what you are listening to. It is unusual, captivating in some ways and hard to label. It could be the beacon for cult enthusiasts looking to develop cross genre music. The musicianship is excellent but I am not sure who is the target audience.

Positive Comments: A simple but gentle classical lullaby song so pleasing to the ear. It could be the background to any romantic film or TV show. It has a nice crescendo. I could listen to music like this all day. in a way I do I listen to Classic FM and this would be well suited that that radio channel. The Fiona drives the reduction of stress with the more complex orchestration building the song.

Constructive Comments: If it is meant to be a luilaby like the noisier elements need toning down. If it is meant to follow a story it could work with the right storyline. It is appropriate for piano music lovers which is not all classical listeners. The intro, cello? does not perfectly fit with the rest. The rest off the strings are very mellow. It is a pleasure to hear.

Positive Comments: Loose, improvised feel. Elements of jazz, funk, latin. Rhythmically interesting. Percussive stuff neat. Funky melodic figures. I like the sax figures that enter at 3:03.

Constructive Comments: The half step modulations do provide some contrast within the piece. Apart from that, I think some additional harmonic elaboration/coloration at points could help to keep the ear engaged. But overall, I like where this artist is coming from.

Song: Put The Weapons Down

Reviewer: Joy Solomon

Positive Comments: This is a message song which has its place in music, particularly in America where the gun carrying debate is very political. This is a clear and persuasive message which of course I endorse. The singer argues that anger is the reason to carry weapons, I am not sure. I worked 10 years in prison education in the UK and most people got into conflict over money linked to drug dealing. The song is a valuable contribution to this debate I am glad it exists.

Constructive Comments: There is a lot of repetition in the song which some listeners might find is overkill. The singer puts his heart and soul into the song and the topic is very serious. Therefore the audience might not find the song entertaining as such. It does stand up as a well produced radio ready song. I hope that the message has some effect!

Reviewer: Joy Solomon

Positive Comments: ‘First date blues’ as I call it is a fun blues song, a little tongue in cheek the singer does not sound nervous about dating at all! Lovely backing instrumentation witty and enjoyable. It is easy for it to become a singalong cult song. I also like very much the growly gruff singing, its great! The tempo is also about right for the lyrics.

Constructive Comments: It initially sounds very traditional but the lyrics are a bit distinct and unusual, that is really a good thing. The beat is consistent but perhaps there could be some variation. The whistle is funny, it is a bit sexist with jump the bones etc, not really taking a female perspective but enjoyable nevertheless.
