Positive Comments: This song starts off with great instrumentation and that stays all the way through. Some very good musicianship. The vocal is a pleasant surprise being in the lower register and being double tracked throughout as well. There’s a lot here to enjoy in this song.

Constructive Comments: This song follows an unusual format with parts being repeated in a different order. The premise of the song is original but for me the lyrics are not as strong as other song elements. This is only my view, so feel free to ignore it. However, rhyming “know” with “know” and “touch” with “touch” doesn’t work for me. And this section doesn’t really scan: “She’s been saving all that cash, far a little piece of land A little smile now and then, gets those boys to grin, They drop those,, ones and fives, sometimes we get a ten It all adds up, our private stash, gonna get a little piece of land” For me, I would rather see a more traditional format with rhyming words, rather than repeated words. But it’s your work and I wish you all the best with it.

Positive Comments: This is a nice gentle dance song that gets better as it progresses. I like the guitar interlude and the harmonies. The message is simple and understandable, basic love, previous heartbreak and attachment. The repetition of you have got a hold on me is hooky and memorable. The singer’s voice is appealing. The singer is begging for a response it is bittersweet.

Constructive Comments: Maybe there is an undercurrent of an unhealthy relationship which might impact on some listeners. There are a lot of songs about heartache and heartbreak it is a hard genre to break into.It could end with a demand like, ‘Hold me now!’ to close the open emotions. In a way the repitition is the greatest asset giving shape to the song.

Positive Comments: This is a classic retro song reminding me of the 1950’s or 60’s. The lyrics are beautiful and romantic, dealing with heartbreak I like the link between rain and feelings. The piano intro is appealing. It is the kind of song that Michael Buble might sing. I can see a couple swaying doing a ballroom dance to this song.

Constructive Comments: It is a new song and so will not be played on a heritage/nostalgia site. The best outcome would be a sync placement in a historical TV show or film. Perhaps some harmony would enrich the song.Sell it to dance studios the clear bpm will be appealing to them! It is perfect for mature listeners to enjoy and hum along with the song.

Positive Comments: I know a little French. I enjoyed the song, the arrangement, music and the singer. It had great atmosphere and was both simple and sophisticated. I think that it is good enough to crossover to the English speaking playlists. I think it is the kind of song that grows on you with multiple plays and it needs a lot of exposure. The singer also has a lovely voice.

Constructive Comments: Ive chosen a name for the song ‘Why listen’ it is tricky all in French for a non French speaking audience. Perhaps a second version could have one English verse. It is good enough to win Eurovision especially with an inclusive gesture. It has classic qualities and may be a hit ‘demain’, tomorrow. The key for all songwriters is to get exposure, maybe on Deezer.

Positive Comments: This sounds like a very retro song it could have come from the 50’s and 60’s. The quality of the singing improves throughout the song but is weakest at the beginning with a little vibrato. The appeal of the the song grows. It is a classic broken romance lyric entertaining but not totally original. I love the high note at the end brilliant!

Constructive Comments: It is a very classic song and would-be perfect for sync with a mid 2020 story line. Whilst it is called pop it might be better named ‘Easy Listening’. The singer is very talented but shows her great talents quite late in the song. The accompaniment is sound and fits the song. The story line is dealing with rejection quite a sensitive topic dealt with well.

Positive Comments: Slightly retro funky instrumentation, great rhythm, really foot tapping the song got better and better as it proceeded. good to listen and dance to the sound is well blended and builds towards a crescendo. Lead guitar very strong, a sense of movement or journey in the song and growing excitement. The riffs in the middle get better and better.

Constructive Comments: It is apt for a certain audience of expert guitarist lovers with a backing group. Maybe that is a huge audience but the song needs to get before them. I am not sure that it is totally of general appeal. It could be good for sync alongside a train journey or retro dancers. Could also be good for animation with head banging puppets.

Song: The Game

Reviewer: Joy Solomon

Positive Comments: The artist reminds me of my mother and my son playing the piano. I really loved it. I would expect to hear that sound in a cabaret at an event or at a fine hotel. It has the sounds that you yearn to hear as you want to destress and relax and every listener will smile. I did. It isn’t unique but it is universally delightful and you need to get the song where it will be heard.

Constructive Comments: I am not sure that it is very original but it is great quality. I don’t think that pop is the right genre but I couldn’t pick any other it is really ‘Easy Listening’ and just a pleasure to listen to. There is a dearth of simple fine music around and this does fill a gap. It is original playing and it is hard to move a good piano around but it is worth it!

Positive Comments: The addition of instruments is very good. The sound of the guitar is great and the violin part almost sounds improvised. It is excellent. Good flute part too, and a good player. Simple melody that is augmented with the ensemble. An extendeded ending is added interest and new melodies added continuing… Violin sounds like a countermelody and the other parts chime in too! Excellent piece!

Constructive Comments: The piece is good as it stands, but maybe for interest sake a change of key or a middle section that is different and then maybe lead back to the original motif. I know, easy for me to say, but I think your talent could do something to it too. The simplicity makes it vibrant and real.
