Song: Love Is In The Things I Do

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Minor introduction sets this song up for a sad story of love lost, an unfaithful man with his “sad affairs” (great lyric). “You expect me to forgive” … great storytelling paints the picture of this failed relationship. There’s a great, memorable riff subtle throughout the track, that comes to the forefront at the end (really liked that musical phrase, totally fits the mood of the song). Great instrumentation, production and mix. Passionate, emotional vocal is right on the money. Wow on the rising vocals in the bridge.

Constructive Comments: Hope that your story ends up to be a happy one. Don’t waste your time/life on unfaithful creeps.

Song: Persian Folk Dance

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: This is a really fun song to listen to. It brings to mind a gypsy camp. Night is falling and people are bringing out the music and starting to dance by firelight. There’s a fun energetic joy infused in this track. Never gets boring. Fun percussion. I like the way the track builds. The mix is fantastic. Just right in my headphones.

Constructive Comments: Was all this created on a computer? Just curious. Nice work!

Song: Terrible Videos on MTV

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: Nice beat introduces this very basic, simple track with a driving message: Terrible videos on MTV. There’s a spoken word part at the end. I’m thinking this is meant to be a novelty, funny piece. It’s unique for sure!

Constructive Comments: I’ve never watched MTV and I don’t know how bad the videos are. Now you’ve got my curiosity up.

Song: Just You and Me

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: If you want to listen to some really beautiful guitar playing, check out this track. You can almost picture his/her fingers playing all over the frets bringing the sweetest sounds ever out of the instrument. Love the melody, rhythm and timing. Great accents & dynamics. Forceful, confident playing. Brings to mind a road trip…freedom on the road…beautiful scenery. Absolutely stellar playing and recording. You made me smile real big!

Constructive Comments: Did the same guitarist play both parts? People who play guitar as well as you make me more than slightly envious. What kind of a guitar are you playing? It just sounds so great. You could probably make an old Kay guitar with rusty strings from a thrift store sound fantastic.
