Positive Comments: the lyrics are strong and I liked the intro groove with its counter beat on piano.

Constructive Comments: the bottom end of this is too dominant – the bass and kick tone are nice, but they control the mix. Vocals need to be brought up front more as it was often difficult to hear the lyrics. There’s too much going on in the chorus and it doesn’t stand out and make you pay attention (it is the most important part of the song after all!). I felt that overall there was a lack of focus with the song. Tighten that up and give some thought to what is important in the chorus and you have something nice to work with.

Positive Comments: has a nice feel and some of the lyrics work quite well.

Constructive Comments: the meter is off in the intro between the drums and the guitar.the vocals can use a lot of love – very pitchy and they need some compression and reverb so that they float in the mix instead of standing so far outside it – they also sound very strained on some places. Some harmony vocal would help sweeten this and overall the song can use more in order to give it an ethereal effect.this has the roots of something promising – some of the melodic lines work while others sound very forced.

Positive Comments: Very smooth sound and overall nice message. I would start the song at the 11-12 second mark to maintain and hold momentum, but I really enjoyed the balance on the instruments once everything kicked in. It was a very nice listen even at 4-minutes long.

Constructive Comments: For “contemporary” it sounds a bit Burl Ives to me as opposed to something currently being played on radio. I was a little confused on the I have a husband, he has a wife verse as it sounded like the woman singing backup should be performing those lines, but those are minor issues. For me the edit starting the song around the 11-second mark would be a bigger issue, grabbing the listener immediately.

Positive Comments: Good job. I hear this and I think of soldiers getting off a plane returning from deployment. Very catchy…It’s going to be stuck in my head all day.

Constructive Comments: It sounded like there may have been a little hiccup at on point in the first minute with timing but was corrected quickly. Plus I’m sure it would be re-scored should it be picked-up. Very Nice Piece..

Positive Comments: It’s a good start. Has good harmony in the backing vocals. The outro guitar solo is fitting very well.

Constructive Comments: I hate saying it but the song is to busy instrumentally for my taste. Lead vocals are lacking intonation and substance. Also a bit to busy lyrically. Keep it up though refine the tune some and you may have something.

Positive Comments: Very light and catchy, in a retro-60s style. The instrumentation reminds me of something Herb Alpert might have put out. Would likely work in a commercial advertising setting.

Constructive Comments: There’s not much depth to the song, probably intentionally, but I would have liked to hear more of a blend than just a bunch of instruments playing together. Still a fun little song.

Song: Days Of Mystery

Reviewer: paul sandberg

Positive Comments: terrific track – nice sentimental lyrics with a strong hook. The mix and production are truly first class – everything just where it belongs – harmony vocals supporting and the guitar floating in and around the melody. The vocals are warm and earnest, conveying the emotional content well. This is almost new country as well as a solid AOR ballad – so you get the best of both worlds.

Constructive Comments: about the only nit I’d pick would be the s sounds, especially the almost whistle s sound on “days” in the first verse – but otherwise this is a stellar track. Radio Ready for sure!! Kudos!
