Positive Comments: Sounds like a LOT of songs in this genre- solo male vocal with solipsistic ‘me-you’ theme. The vocal and melody don’t kill me in the first 15 seconds as it needs to to be a hit. But it’s perfectly competent.

Constructive Comments: Add backing vocals and focus a bit more on the world rather than the self x

Positive Comments: It doesn’t kill me because like may folk songs it is a bit solipsistic and the melody and backing don’t grab me in fifteen seconds. Nicely done, love the cello but not a hit for me.

Constructive Comments: Add backing vocals and a band and focus outside the self a bit more in a way which appeals universally.

Positive Comments: Backing is a bit low-key. Vocal is clear and strong. Nice but not a killer in the first 15 seconds.

Constructive Comments: A lot of songs in this genre are a kind of ‘me-you’ theme and this sounds a bit solipsistic. Professional but not a killer track.

Positive Comments: Has a Paul Simon vibe which is nice but I feel the musical backing is a bit low-key and the overall vibe too familiar to be exciting. professional and I like the way the drums come in on verse 2.

Constructive Comments: It doesn’t have a killer melody and many songs like this are a bit solipsistic.

Positive Comments: I need to be affected by a track in the first 15 seconds and here the first thing I notice is a rather frail vocal and very quiet backing so it doesn’t KILL me straight away.

Constructive Comments: I don’t think this is commercial, it sounds a bit like a live recording from a small folk club.

Song: My Miss America

Reviewer: Pete Higginson

Positive Comments: Has a definite Paul Simon vibe with a strong recording profile. Nice vocal and titular hook, but it didn’t kill me in the first 15 seconds as it needs to do to be a hit. Could definitely be a soundtrack for a film contender but it’s a bit too personal to have a universal effect.

Constructive Comments: Nice work- could use a backing vocal to firm it up.

Positive Comments: Feels immediately familiar with a very strong vocal presence but a slightly too familiar instrumental line and melody. Might suite a film soundtrack especially in USA but wouldn’t work in UK where I am. NICE!

Constructive Comments: Just needs a twist to give it a more immediate hook.

Positive Comments: Country-influenced contemporary folk which has an immediate impact with warm tone, hook solid, professional vocal. I really like it and could feature in any licensing context especially an advert. Great!

Constructive Comments: It’s a perfect length for an ad, but could benefit from another verse.

Song: Hot Electric Blues Jam – INSTRUMENTAL EDIT

Reviewer: Phil Bouldry

Positive Comments: Holy WOW you guys R O C K! I love the dual lead guitars, and when the organ comes in. I marked a average for originality because this is basically a blues jam, and there a million of them. Hoever, this one rocks and is ell mixed and is performed flawlessly. I will always love a good blues jam, and this one is GREAT!

Constructive Comments: My only thought is that when there was only one lead guitar playing, it should have gone to front and center, and then faded back and over to its side when it was done. But that’s just personal preference. The whole song sounded great from start to finiah. I want to hear more of your stuff for sure.

Song: TIME TO PARTY

Reviewer: Phil Bouldry

Positive Comments: The overall sound was a little old sounding. Like from an old cassette tape. The instrumentation was good. It made it sound like you’re at a party, for sure. The singer had the voice that matches the atmosphere. This song has a vibe that would play well in a TV or movie barroom brawl scene.

Constructive Comments: all the additional background vocals add to the party atmosphere, but seem to be a bit overused. They are used through the whole song from start to end. I think they should have been used a little less. The song seems to go on a little longer than necessary, also. Absolutely a party song, but even a party can go on too long.
