Song: Its Gone

Reviewer: Randall Mark

Positive Comments: If this song were a kid, it would be the Black sheep of the family. The song has some attitude! And I liked it! Very free-flowing and non-conforming, yet still Repetitious enough to have some catchiness to it. I liked the instrumentation. It reminded me a little bit of Devo Also very good vocals to go along with the vibe of the song

Constructive Comments: I can’t think of anything constructive to say maybe some even wilder or crazier instruments to enhance the attitude even more of the song? Just a thought

Song: After the Storm

Reviewer: Randall Mark

Positive Comments: I imagine this being played to a movie scene with a man walking down a lonely path or road, having endured hardship, maybe a lost loved one, or surviving some natural catastrophe. Beautiful piano, soulful, and somewhat haunting

Constructive Comments: I would’ve liked to see the song would be a little longer so it could’ve evolved a bit more. I am wondering if perhaps this is an excerpt from a longer version or a longer song?

Reviewer: Phil Bouldry

Positive Comments: This certainly a marketable song. It has a great dance beat, Reminds me of Parliament Funkadelic, or maybe the Spinners. The lyric is simple and clear. The singer’s voice is in the pocket. The instrumentation is full but not overbearing, mixed well with the vocal. I don’t think I have ever heard of a song with a Ride The Rainbow theme before so originality is there. Although, you might check out Joe Sample’s Rainbow Seeker. It’s fun, but instrumental only.

Constructive Comments: I haven’t made a playlist yet, but when I do, this song will be on it.

Broadjam Artist: Empty Atlas
Song: Birthday

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Very elegant overall, modern sound that fits what’s on the radio now. The chord progression was interesting and I enjoyed listening start to finish. Definitely rock-solid songwriting and performance.

Constructive Comments: For my taste the choruses are a bit busy and muddy sounding. Would prefer more clarity, but a lot of what’s on radio now is over-driven so it seems to work for the 20- and 30-something.
