Song: Going Shoppin’

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: Good energy with a comedic edge. Very 50s sounding and the instrumentation was tight and fit the song.

Constructive Comments: Instead of being in General Rock, maybe Unique Comedy, Rock New Wave or maybe best yet Rock Root/Rock ‘N Roll would suit the song better and get the proper ears on it. I’d re-classify this in a heartbeat.

Broadjam Artist: Randy Steward
Song: Crispin

Reviewer: Bob Birthisel

Positive Comments: This reminded me a lot of Leonard Cohen. Great overall feel to the song. The recording quality was really strong, and it was unlike anything else I’ve heard on Broadjam. Would likely get more of the correct ears on this if it was in a different category like Unique.

Constructive Comments: Definitely need to find a suitable category – this is anything but Rock, maybe even Folk Rock or Folk Contemporary. Instruments were all in tune, but the lack of a real drum sound and the strange keyboard sound held down the ranking.

Positive Comments: I liked the bass line. The drive is a good one. I thought the guitar sounds were very good. Good quality of the arrangement. Has a nice drive to it.

Constructive Comments: Vocal was a bit harsh in some places – a scream voice is better suited for a more aggressive background. But very good otherwise.

Positive Comments: I loved the melody and arrangement. The vocal is very nice. I thought the song was very nice. Be good on radio or in a movie. I don’t know if mezzanine is a name of a person or not and that is why I rated the lyrics a bit low. Very nice song.
