Song: What About My Reward

Positive Comments: I actually loved the song right out of the gate. I loved how the song “jumped” right into the story, if you’ll forgive the sin. Vocals and melody worked really well, I liked the reverb, and I found the song fairly catchy. Great lead guitar work. Whoever is playing they is a highly skilled guitarist. The lyrics were quite effective, catchy rhymes that painted pictures.

Constructive Comments: I actually expected more of a story development, especially given the Big Bang start. The idea of his heroics and then questioning “what about my reward” was very intriguing to me. I found it to be a very unique and interesting idea for a song. I felt that this would naturally lead into an ironic or climatic ending. Perhaps he has something tragic or dangerous happen to him and somebody saves him and that is his reward, or some karma like that. Or maybe Jesus “saves” him, if you wanted that type of song. I really feel like some kind of completion of the story would have made this song really really good! Good song but in my humble opinion, a missed opportunity to make it a really awesome song. I think it could be easily changed to be so. All the other elements (melody, lyric, catchy, hook) are there in my opinion

Positive Comments: I love it !, it so hails back to 1980/81. Everything feels perfect, Emphatic submission no less ! i,m guessing your British ? The lyrics blend perfectly into the modern era, and all the instrumentation and vocals feel genuine. If you haven,t got it already, please find a copy of “Lawnchairs” by “Our Daughters Wedding” on eBay or something, as it so reminds me of that time, also Me No Popeye and the Word Song ? Can,t remember the bands. It would fit great in a film etc…… soundtrack, if you found the right movie,

Constructive Comments: I thought the drums might be slightly too loud , but just listening on my iMac and am not a producer.I did think that perhaps you could have a harmony, maybe on vocoder, on the last chorus for the “auto, automatronic” bit, would make it stand out and frame it a bit more, its quite an abrupt end so would inform the listener if you you chose to do that, your call obvs.If you can’t find Lawnchairs on vinyl i can send you a dusty recording via pro tools if you like. Thanks for this , i love 78 to 81!!Cheers Paul

Positive Comments: Excellent groove and the guitars have a nice clean tone. Rhythm section is tight with really good jazz tone on the bass. More Jazz than Rock in my opinion and you’ll probably find your target audience there, but it was a pleasure to listen to.

Constructive Comments: Might have enjoyed a few more subtle changes or altering the progression just a bit beyond the existing mix. Still it’s a killer little track.

Positive Comments: Great tone on the guitar, with tasteful playing and no busy-for-busy’s-sake throw ins. The bass and drums are tight together and I enjoyed the chord progression as well. Nice song.

Constructive Comments: Personal taste issue for me – I found that tiny, fast click in the background annoying on headphones, taking away from the guitar which sounded great. Then at 2:41 the click dropped out completely for 20 seconds and came back in. I just wanted to hear the groove, the excellent playing, and live in the moment without the clicking distraction.

Positive Comments: I really liked this from the jump. Very melodic, and the band is exceptionally-tight. Tasteful instrumentation, not over-played, and the vocal and harmonies fit the song extremely well. Great little tune and even the smooth fade works perfectly!

Constructive Comments: Almost a perfect score – I wish there was a bit more clarity on the instruments which sounded slightly muddy, but the song is so good it doesn’t really matter.

Positive Comments: I loved the energy of this and the guitar playing was outstanding. The tempo changes were unexpected and interesting. Different but in a good way!

Constructive Comments: I’m a pro 20+ year drummer, and normally I love big drum sounds but they are so far in front of the mix I couldn’t make out lyrics, and all the other instruments were left in the dust. Even the KILLER guitar playing that I wanted to hear more of. A re-mix with balanced instruments and +4 to 5db on the vocals would do wonders for this track. I really loved it overall.

Positive Comments: Nice overall sound, definitely Pop or Electronic/EDM/Dance rather than listed as a Rock song. I’d re-classify this right away to get the correct ears on it. Excellent energy and tempo for what it is.

Constructive Comments: The song abruptly stops at 1:04, no fade or button-point ending, so there may be a problem with the file. It jumps out at the listener as not being the actual end of the song.
