Positive Comments: This is a very clever tune.

Constructive Comments: I really like this! Not sure how much of this is fantasy/metaphor,but it kept my interest from the very beginning. Might be because I’ve spent the greater part of my adult life as a carpenter/contractor. I’ve had a few nightmares related to the business……..Not much to add to improve this, it’s kinda rough in a good way and the Latin feel softens the message…Thanks for sharing this tune.

Positive Comments: Like the rhythm and tempo changes.

Constructive Comments: This really needs a melody line. The basic chord changes and rhythm changes could work better if you had a melodic line running through them to tie the piece together. Some drums would also help the flow. You’ve got some good ideas here, they just need to be more refined.

Positive Comments: I liked this cover. I have to say, I would have liked to hear more singing during the verses, but you are original. It was like Kelsey Grammar and George Carlin met at a hockey tonk blues bar, on the set of a western movie. It kept my attention the entire way through!

Constructive Comments: This is a tough song to cover, but you did it your way. The laughing, kind of sinister sounding. I think you are a musician, so the execution was great, but the balance between piano and vocals wavered a bit here and there. I think you were going for a live piano man kind of feel. I enjoyed this piece, would love to hear more from you. Very entertaining.

Positive Comments: Catchy rythm here! Very danceable beat. You knew exactly what sound you were going for. I can see you had a story in this song. The lyrics are heartfelt and the theme of the song is relatable.

Constructive Comments: The song is a story, but some of the lyrics were a bit hard to make out, and I think a little work on phrasing would help. I think a little more harmony would round out your vocals. I liked the tempo you chose, very relaxed, very mellow. I think you may need to look at the structure of the song a little bit. I think if some of your verses were combined, they would have been more impactful, and as a result, your chorus would have been a little less repetitive. Overall, a laid back honest song.

Positive Comments: This artist reminds me a little of Wolfshein. See song “Once In A Lifetime”. I would say there is great potential here, but the arrangement and instrumentation needs a little variation. I like the direction with the lyrics, but they don’t always have to have the exact same tempo, and they could use varying degrees of dynamics to keep it interesting. The general feel of this song is that of synth pop, which is kind of a throwback to early NIN, skinny puppy, etc. It’s nice to see something different than what is currently on the radio. Work those arrangements a bit, and keep writing.

Constructive Comments: The mix was an area that could use little tweaks. The synth was a bit loud, and it seemed the vocals were competing a bit. I would have liked to hear some other instrumental elements in there, it could be a much rounder sound, and it would bring out the general mood of the song a bit more. Good work overall. 🙂

Positive Comments: The lyrics was vibrant, fun, and easy to understand. The hook was very good and catchy. The instrumentation and arrangement of the song was very good. enthusiastic, energetic, and fun to listen too. The vocals were clear and in tune with the key signature. Puts me in the mind of “Steely Dan”

Constructive Comments: The first thing noticeably wrong in the recording is the panning. Drums and Lead Vocals should be panned center. The bass (Right/Left) and Guitar (Left/Right). Sound like an accordion in the background wasn’t sure, it was very low.

Positive Comments: The song concept is pretty good. The chorus was fun and catchy, The groove had great drive and a uplifting feel. I like the overdubs and ad-libs, they were well placed. The Lyric told a good story that could be followed very well.

Constructive Comments: The music could use some work, as far as more up to date sounds. The Instrumentation was too repetitive and lacked a real feel. Could use compression on the overall mix. The vocals could have had more Reverb and some delay.

Constructive Comments: I felt the the drum hit where little off, may need to quantize them. Everything else was find.

Positive Comments: I liked the harmonies in the chorus gave the song a pleasant, light sound and mood. I liked the change up at about 2:40 of the song and then the introduction of the female voice that harmonized with the main singer. I also liked the chimes sounding instrument

Constructive Comments: I found the start of the song just not very pleasing to the ears. I think a different kind of singing voice may have helped. I liked the song better when the harmonies came in. I think it is important for a song to start off on a strong point because the start is the listener’s first impression. I also was not too sure what this was about. I think it is kind of a silly song but the lyrics were not very easy to understand except for “one of those pop songs”
