Broadjam Artist: Marc S. Pate
Song: Take Me (duet)

Reviewer: Denis K & Ata

Positive Comments: Good vocals and harmonies throughout the song. The instrumentation is good and well-mixed. Especially liked the keyboard and guitar solos. Song is listed as swing jazz, but to me it’s more of a jazzy pop song. The groove reminds me of “I Love You More Today than Yesterday.”

Constructive Comments: Vocals are very good, but the song could be made more interesting if you alternated the male and female voice lines at times in the song, rather than having the tight harmony throughout. The ending is abrupt and a bit weak, but the drummer lays down a good closing accent.

Song: BUT I DON’T KNOW

Reviewer: Denis K & Ata

Positive Comments: I like the song. The guitar harmonics in front make for a unique intro. The bass and drums let a nice groove. This song is listed as Chicago style blues, but to me it’s more of a country blues. A bit of a retro feel or Alman Brothers. Good guitar work throughout, especially solos and riffs.

Constructive Comments: In general, the mix is a bit tubby and muffled at times. It would sound better with a crisp mix on guitars and vocals and a more defined bass and drums.

Song: Atomic Blades – Ambient New Age Cinema

Reviewer: Denis K & Ata

Positive Comments: I really like this. Very good arrangement and mix. Interesting, dark and moody melody. I like the deep sequenced bass throughout and the ethereal strings above. Reminds me of “House of Cards” theme by Jeff Beal. Could be used in a sci-fi movie or TV series.

Constructive Comments: If you could vary the sound and texture of the sequenced bass and synthesized strings as the song progresses, it would add more interest and excitement to the song. Listen to the music of Todd Terje and Jeff Beal for that.

Song: Arctic Suspense – Cinematic

Reviewer: Barry Osbourn

Positive Comments: great piece, tons of drama and tension, and suspense. well done.

Constructive Comments: nothing to change here, the only thing I could say is that it doesn’t sound mastered? if not I think you could get the recording quality to sound a little more blended if you put some compression on it. But it’s not bad, just could be a little better.

Song: I Will Love You Forever (with strings)

Reviewer: Barry Osbourn

Positive Comments: very well played, tons tension and sorrow and longing. great composition falloff emotions.

Constructive Comments: nothing to change here, the only thing I could say is it sounds very familiar, which can be a good thing but also can seem as if its a cover, and maybe this is?
