Positive Comments: perfection… well done, you’ve got this whole thing down, love the drums in this one.

Constructive Comments: Not much to change here, the only thing I could really offer as criticism might be on the originality side of things, which isn’t that big of a deal, kinda the last mountain to climb for someone of your caliber. the music is great and the recording is great but it does all feel pretty familiar. which is often what they want, but just from an artistic standpoint can you do something like this, with the same vibe an emotions but tweek the composition to male it a little more original so the listener is pleasantly surprised along the way, or a little challenged . I think if you can conquer originality you will have the WHOLE package.

Positive Comments: GREAT WORK ,nice compositional blending of traditional sounds and contemporary, well done. Very dramatic

Constructive Comments: I like the piano and violin the most in the composition and the plain snare drum that come in, but not sure about the heavy synth, it may take it to a place that just doesn’t seem appropriate? not sure, maybe it would grow on me. But I do think the piano needs a little high end, its a little bossy, and you should put a little verb on one of the entrapments to give it some depth and contrast, with everything up front it gets a little cluttered.

Constructive Comments: It sounds a little ” Digitally” I would put a little more reverb on both tracks and bring up the volume of the strings just a bit to give it more atmosphere.

Constructive Comments: sounded like there were some edits that were a little jumpy or something I’m not sure, The mix of some of the instruments seems a little dry maybe, IDK, there something odd about the mix but I can’t quite put my finger on it, sorry.. But not horrible, just seems like maybe it needs a tweak here and there. maybe a little more reverb on a few things? not sure

Song: When She Talks to Me

Positive Comments: Here’s a jazzy smooth love song that draws the listener in from the first notes. The vocal is a sweet fluid tenor, flawlessly executed. The instrumentation suits the romantic melody perfectly. Lyrics are fresh, engaging, and perfectly understandable. This writer knows how to use interesting words to the best advantage (when was the last time anyone used “alchemy” in a song?) Also the interplay between the word “talks (to me) and intoxicated. Cleverly done. This is an expertly crafted song and I hope it goes far…really far.

Constructive Comments: My guess is this is Greg Johnson. So how does a guy from Davis, CA come up with all this tropical jazz wonderful music? I’m impressed. I can’t think of anything to improve this song. Just get it out there and gain more fans. You are amazing.

Positive Comments: Haunting introduction sets this song up for the timeless sad story of Jesus Christ, praying and sweating drops of blood in Gethsemane. The artist’s pure, poignant vocal communicates the sorrow and anguish and seriousness of the situation well with a very emotion-charged performance. The production/instrumentation is beautifully done. Bravo!

Constructive Comments: Delta, I know this is you! Nice job. Was this your original composition? Just curious. At one point I felt like the instrumental track was overpowering your vocal. I wanted to hear more strength in your vocal on the climax word, Crucified. Especially the last syllable. Love you bunches, Mrs. Kate PS we are out in the land of fire and high winds, California. Had to evacuate last night and we are in Vacaville. We are safe, but the winds are scary. Pray for the firefighters!

Song: I Belong

Reviewer: Kate Carpenter

Positive Comments: This artist has a unique voice that gripped me from the get go…after that amazingly beautiful guitar intro. The guitar work on this piece is absolutely enchanting! The song has a classic quality about it, mainly because the melody is so engagingly simple and beautiful. “I belong to the Son” …that hook really grabs me as unforgettable. The lyrics are fresh and original “all at peace with every ounce of me” (love that) “Walk me to your sacred promised land.” Everything is fresh and lovely…I just really like it when I can find Christian music that isn’t cloning someone else. Nice job!

Constructive Comments: I did need to look at the lyrics to understand everything you were saying. It was the “Hold on give in to your fear” that puzzled me. What do you exactly mean by that? Stand tall in the rain…I get that. Anyway, that was the only part of your song that stumped me. Are you talking about the fear of the Lord (which is the beginning of wisdom) or human fear (perfect love casts out all fear). Please clarify if you get a chance. Loved your song! Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: Here is a beautifully produced soundtrack that is strong on emotional appeal. Composed in a minor key, it has a certain aura of mystery and suspense. The piano is dynamically and expressively played, backed by a beautiful string bed. It’s a poignant piece. Bravo!

Constructive Comments: The only thing I would suggest is a little more fluid transition in the strings. You don’t want to hear those chord changes…they should almost be invisible. Beautiful in the background, adding to the emotion, but not noticed. This from someone who can’t even do what you are doing…so take it with a grain of salt.
