Positive Comments: This songwriter is ORIGINAL! The lyrics are fun and the rhymes are super-fresh. The theme is excellent and you definitely stuck to your subject. personal/ merciful/ reversible – fantastic rhymes. I like the alligator/later/hater one, too. Vocals are crystal clear. Production is fairly simple but works for this song. Definitely want to hear more from this talented artist!

Constructive Comments: I would like to hear background vocals by someone other than the main vocalist. Ending doesn’t work for me. The Hmmm and giggle kind of made it sound less professional. Ending is a bit long. Might be shortened to be more commercially acceptable.

The lyrics are smooth, heartfelt, and original. This songwriter aims straight for the heart and hits a bullseye. Word pictures are great (light on, key under the mat). Great rhyme: Missed/insist. Simple production suits song well.

Positive Comments: The instrumentation, arrangement and quality of the recording are great. The voice is quite lovely. Even though this is not the type of song one ever hears any more, it would certainly be useful and fit perfectly in a movie, I would think.

Constructive Comments: It is possible this song could be sung by two different people – the black-hearted cowboy himself, and the other person looking for love (in the chorus.) Instead of “Well it takes a lot of doin’ to make a boy cold” why not say “It takes a lot of doin’ to TURN a boy cold”? Also, FYI, there’s a type-o: the k is missing from the word “KNOW.” Other than that, the lyrics are good.

Positive Comments: Very well produced sound. Arrangement and Instrumentation were great. Loved the sweet violin sound at the end and would like more violin actually.

Constructive Comments: Lyrics were good but I think some of the words could be left out and still get the feeling across. The song demands attention in order to understand what is being said. So it can’t be categorized as “easy listening.” (But that might be what is desired and this criticism might be wrong.)
