Positive Comments: Here’s a song about a cowboy with a sad past. The abuse account really touches the heart. Excellently told story, tear-jerking ballad. My favorite rhyme: shard, scarred (that whole line is GREAT!) Very effective word pictures. Memorable hook. Plaintive voice. Nice instrumentation. Mix is right on target.

Constructive Comments: I heard a pitch issue in “dust”. Also you have a woman singing a man’s song. Even though it’s well-sung…it’s still a woman singing a song in the first person…who is supposed to be a man. Can you make it a black-hearted cowgirl? Hmmmm….I don’t know!This is Mrs. Kate. Now I want to go back to the first version I heard and compare the two. Nice job!

Positive Comments: This is some really, really good stuff!! The tuning on the guitar is very engaging. The vocal is over the top good! Such a wonderful vocal texture, awesome emotion and timing. Not a lot of people can sing at this level, hardly any. I absolutely love this!!

Constructive Comments: In terms of commercial potential, I have no idea. It certainly sounds out of the mainstream to me, but then I’m not really a fan of mainstream. It could probably work great in a film. It has a little bit of that old Richie Havens sound to me…..rich expressive vocals. This is just SO DAMN GOOD!!! Great stuff! Take care. Greg

Positive Comments: This is so well done…so professional!! The vocal sounds commercial quality to my ears. I think the writing is top notch…a fresh approach certainly. The simple arrangement works very well, and the instrument playing is very, very good.

Constructive Comments: Although I like the stripped down arrangement, particularly since the vocal is so strong, I think a little decoration (not a lot), perhaps with bass and fiddle, and maybe some subtle percussion could add a little sweetness to the production. THis is a GREAT song….not much I can think of to make it any better. Congrats on some great work!! Take care. Greg

Positive Comments: This is a really cool piece of music!! Although as a musician, I am a hack and not fit to judge, the playing sounds outstanding to me! It is a very interesting, and superbly crafted piece. I would guess it would fit best under classical, or neoclassical. I hear some Mozart influence in the piece. Very well done!!

Constructive Comments: I have no idea about the marketability of a piece like this. I could imagine it in a scene of a film, possibly with some other orchestration added to it. I could see it in a context like the scenes in All That Jazz where the character was pushing himself through the day with uppers. It is a really cool piece! You should be proud!! Take care. Greg

Positive Comments: This is lots of fun. I’m giving it high marks because I can’t see how this can fail to find plays at Christmas at least on local radio. It’s perfect for a bit of fun at Christmas. The kids singing is great and tuneful.

Constructive Comments: The kids singing is actually great and in tune, well done. Just slightly difficult to hear the words in parts partly because it’s so fast but then that’s jingle bells and hey who isn’t going to cut the kids some slack for the fun that’s in it. Guitar accompaniment and recording sounds pretty polished otherwise. I doubt you’ll be challenging Mariah Carey for royalties at Christmas but it’s got to find some plays somewhere at least.
